The Cisco UCS VIC 1225T implement Cisco Virtual Machine Fabric Extender (VM-FEX), which unifies virtual and physical networking into a single infrastructure. It provides virtual-machine visibility from the physical network and a consistent network operations model for physical and virtual servers.

In virtualized environments, this highly configurable and self-virtualized adapter provides integrated, modular LAN interfaces on Cisco UCS C-series rack servers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I appreciate the interface for UCS as it makes it much easier to manage specific scopes without having to go to the command line on a console. But you still need the console; I did not appreciate that I had to locate a port replicator and rollover cable to connect to the fiber interface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The mother of our servers pod. This server system is quite heavy. Configuring it also quite difficult, but afterwards, its start to perform just like any ordinary servers, but with all the Cisco feature build around it. let say FCoE, best thermal dissipation, and rock solid performance and stability. Installed using vmware ESXi designed specific for cisco UCS.
