The Cisco UCS C220 M4SFF rack server is a 2-socket, 1U rack server from Cisco, designed for both performance and expandability over a wide range of storage-intensive infrastructure workloads from big data to collaboration. The UCS C220 M4SFF server provides 24 DIMM slots, up to 8 drives and 2x1 GbE LAN-on-motherboard (LOM) ports delivering outstanding levels of density and performance in a compact 1U package. The C220 M4 SFF server includes a modular LAN on motherboard (mLOM) slot for installation of a network interface card (NIC) without consuming a PCI slot in addition to 2x1 GbE embedded (on the motherboard). These features combine to provide outstanding levels of internal memory and storage expandability along with exceptional performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I appreciate the interface for UCS as it makes it much easier to manage specific scopes without having to go to the command line on a console. But you still need the console; I did not appreciate that I had to locate a port replicator and rollover cable to connect to the fiber interface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We use the Cisco UCS blades as a set of 6 Hypervisors using VMware, tied to NetApp SAN storage over FC and iSCSI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The mother of our servers pod. This server system is quite heavy. Configuring it also quite difficult, but afterwards, its start to perform just like any ordinary servers, but with all the Cisco feature build around it. let say FCoE, best thermal dissipation, and rock solid performance and stability. Installed using vmware ESXi designed specific for cisco UCS.
