Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stable and highly robust What is our primary use case? I use Aruba Wireless to give wifi access to customers and office-goers. What is most valuable? Aruba Wireless's best feature is that it's very, very robust. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using Aruba Wireless for three to four years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Aruba Wireless is very stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Aruba Wireless is scalable. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is straightforward and only requires a small amount of technical know-how. Deployment can take some time if you haven't planned well. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Aruba Wireless comes with the controller. What other advice do I have? I'd recommend anybody looking at implementing Aruba Wireless to go for it - it's a really, very good product. I'd rate Aruba Wireless eight out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has a nice user interface and clustering feature, and is easy to install What is most valuable? There is a clustering feature, so the APs immediately switch back to the next available controller. The users will not notice any impact and will feel connected to the network. They will not notice any disconnection. The AirMatch feature is also very useful. If the radio channels and the power being utilized in the RF environment are filled up, it will update all of those channels and power transmission. What needs improvement? They have to work on their Aruba Central cloud platform. There are still some glitches such as not showing proper user details. When we removed the AP from the Aruba Central cloud, it showed up as being connected to Aruba Central. They need to fix these issues. I would like to see artificial intelligence and machine learning in the next release. Other vendors already have artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities in their cloud platform-based wireless solutions. For how long have I used the solution? I've been working with this solution for the last six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. How are customer service and support? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN's technical support was very good in 2017 and 2018. Now, the calls go here and there, and we don't get an immediate response. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was very easy. It's not that complex. Which other solutions did I evaluate? Compared to Cisco, Aruba Networks Wireless WAN's user interface is very nice. What other advice do I have? On a scale from one to ten, I would rate this solution at nine. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Management is centralized, so it's easier to manage over other solutions, but it becomes buggy after updates, and its support team is slow in resolving issues What is our primary use case? We mainly use Aruba Networks Wireless WAN for our corporate wireless access for corporate mobiles, corporate laptops, and guest wireless access. We also use the product because of its tax asset. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is centralized management. It has features like other solutions, but it's easier to manage. Aruba Networks Wireless WAN also has a tax asset benefit which is good. What needs improvement? What needs to improve in Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is the support because it takes quite a long time for the support team to resolve issues. Whenever a new version or update is released, my company sees many bugs and issues, so that is another area for improvement as well. For how long have I used the solution? I have one year experience with Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is a stable solution, but whenever there's an update, many bugs and open issues arise, but as a product, it's stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN has some scalability issues with the on-premises model. My team may have to explore its cloud model. How are customer service and support? The technical support for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN needs improvement because it takes longer for the team to resolve bugs and issues. How was the initial setup? It's been a long time since Aruba Networks Wireless WAN was set up in my company, so I can't remember if there was any complication involved, but the deployment model was straightforward, and there wasn't that much complication. Even a new addition to Aruba Networks Wireless WAN was straightforward. Deployment took no longer than two hours. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I'm not sure about the licensing cost or pricing for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. Which other solutions did I evaluate? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN has been in the company when I joined, so I'm unaware of other solutions evaluated it. What other advice do I have? More than ten thousand people, particularly enterprise users, use Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. Two to three people handle the deployment and maintenance of Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. What I'd say to others looking into implementing Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is that it has scalability issues and its support needs improvement. It has many open bugs that could stop you from moving forward. I'm rating Aruba Networks Wireless WAN seven out of ten. My company has a partnership with Aruba, but it's not a reseller. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Central mobility controller can manage everything instead of having the independent or basic cellular setup What is our primary use case? Our primary use is to provide wireless network access for our clients. What is most valuable? The newest features and options allow us to use leading-edge functionality like the central mobility controller which can manage everything instead of having the independent or basic cellular kind of setup. Bigger enterprise-level configuration and policy pushing will become easier with Mobility Master and that will provide better services for our clients. What needs improvement? The wireless options could be improved to expand the set of features. From a switching perspective, there should be a little more flexibility so there are opportunities to use a broader variety of switch models compared to competing product options. I don't really know specifically what they need to have and improve, just that they continue to keep up with emerging technologies and continue to expand the capabilities of their services. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using this solution for almost eight years. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Scalability is good with Aruba. You can control and support any feature, unlike in Cisco where we have found limitations. Specific controllers have got specific iOS features. The features can be scaled from smaller controllers to bigger controllers, so you can scale at anytime, no matter what cloud the controller is on. You can also start with the cloud or start with on-premises and go back to the controller base at any time. How are customer service and technical support? We have been in touch with Aruba technical support and I would rate them as pretty good. They have been responsive and answer our questions. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is fairly straightforward. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Depending on different models you get different capabilities and flexibility. Based on the core components we can have greater coverage or limited access sites. What other advice do I have? On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate Aruba Network Wireless as an eight. It is not a ten. Nothing can be a ten out of ten or it would have to be the best product or the only product providing a service. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Allows you to easily scale your network infrastructure to support thousands of remote users What is our primary use case? We've built out a new office and we use Aruba as our wireless system. Regular workers at our company use it. We built the office for about 500 seats. In the end, it should be able to seat roughly 500 people. If each person has at least three devices, that's close to 1500 devices on the network. That's the capacity that we're planning to use. How has it helped my organization? I'm coming from a Meraki environment, which was also cloud-based. I feel that Aruba allows for more flexibility when it comes to configuration and deployment. Aruba gives you the same feeling as using a controller on-prem, whereas Meraki seems to be hiding a lot of the configuration behind the scenes and forces you to actually call them and ask them to enable certain features. So far, using Aruba Central is more like using an actual controller based on the amount of configuration you can do. Meraki just came out with profiles, but as far as I know, they don't have profiles for how your device connects to the actual physical LAN. They might have that now, or maybe with some of their devices that have multiple interfaces, but with Aruba, I could actually set up different interfaces on the actual access points depending on how they're connected to my network. This is an example of the granularity of the configurations that they allow you to configure. Because it gives me more ability as an engineer to design the network, I'm hoping that it's going to be a little bit more predictable based on the fact that I have more features that I can change or set. What is most valuable? It's hard to say to be honest. I just started working through all of the different features they have. It's just up and running right now; we haven't finished really fully-configuring it. So far, I like the way that it integrates with the ClearPass security system on-site. It's just an authentication engine. Also, the web GUI for the wireless controller of Aruba Central provides us with a lot of different options. We can do a lot more with it than we could with Meraki. What needs improvement? Not too long ago, Aruba was purchased by Hewlett-Packard. They must be still going through the integration because their websites are not really integrated together well, so it makes it hard to find documentation. I'm assuming it's going to get better, but right now, the integration between the support that you are getting from Hewlett-Packard, which is the parent company, and Aruba, they're not meshing together. That's one problem that I found. Aruba Central, because it's cloud-based (you're going to have this all the time with cloud-based solutions), there's going to be some sort of a lag between what you're seeing on the screen and what you're experiencing on-site. With Aruba, you have more ability to see what's going on, but because you have more ability to see what's going on, it exacerbates the physical distance and the time-distance between what you're seeing in the cloud, and what you're seeing on-site. For example, they have a lot of tools for dynamic channel and power-out allocation. When you're dealing with something on-site, what you're seeing is more real-time. Maybe as I get used to working with Aruba, I'll be able to get in sync with what's happening in real-time, and with what I'm actually seeing on the product and the cloud. For how long have I used the solution? This is a new deployment so I've only been using it for roughly six to eight weeks. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability and the scalability are both good. How are customer service and technical support? The customer support is pretty good. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is as straightforward as you want it to be. To get it mostly set up didn't take that long, but to get it the way that you want it to be can take a little longer. For me, because I'm new to this service (not wireless infrastructure, but Aruba in general), the initial setup is pretty quick, but to get it fine-tuned, it takes a long time. What about the implementation team? We have done most of the implementation, in-house. We have a sales rep that we call upon, but we're just using general support, that's about it. As we're still currently in the process of deployment, I can't say exactly how long it takes. As this whole office is brand new, we hired people to run the cables and actually mount them. We didn't actually do the physical install of all these APs. Two employees (including myself) handle all maintenance-related issues with this solution. What was our ROI? Overall, I think Aruba Central will produce a good return on our investment. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I don't know much about the licensing, but you license the APs to be able to use or to be configured in Aruba Central. I don't know how much it costs but I believe it's on a yearly- basis. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We evaluated Cisco Meraki again, and we also looked at Ruckus — in reality, we just read some of their documentation. We settled with Aruba because it seemed like it had more security features. What other advice do I have? I only have experience with the controller-less environment, which is Aruba Central. When I do searches on Google, most of the information regarding that is for a controller-based or controller-less. I think Aruba Central is a newer way of deploying this solution, so because of that, there seems to be less information for it. I would probably recommend talking to your representatives in order to get as much information about Aruba Central as you can before investing in it. If you can use a controller, it could be better or easier to find out information and learn how to configure it. On a scale from one to ten, I would give Aruba Central a rating of eight. If they improved their documentation and the other issues I mentioned, then I would give it a rating of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has good market value and offers good support for the deployment What is our primary use case? We have this solution on our standalone sites operating with indoor and outdoor access points connected to a controller. It has multiple access IDs in the campus area. What is most valuable? The brand name is good for availability. It has a better market value than other vendors. This solution is more for enterprise-sized companies as opposed to SMBs. All the features are available, even including the security. The access point enables the matching of any connectivity. What needs improvement? From the commercial-side the pricing side is fine but in other aspects, it could be lowered. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using Aruba for the last three to four years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The customers are definitely happy with the stability. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Scalability is good. How are customer service and technical support? I would give their technical support a ten out of ten. We are system integrators, so we prefer to work with a vendor who offers support with deployments. They are very knowledgeable and very accurate. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was straightforward. It took around a day. We integrated with Aruba's help. Aruba's support is very strong. It's one of the best features, their support is very good. There's support for any problem you could have during the configuration or installation. With their help, you don't need a consultant to deploy. What about the implementation team? We deployed it with our own technician. We only needed one or two. What other advice do I have? Aruba is a very good product. Make sure to train your technicians for this product. I would rate it a ten out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Controller with access points that is stable and easy to setup What is our primary use case? We use this solution to control access and bandwidth. It is used for the RTLS tracking devices that are supported by Aruba and we are going to test it in our environment. What is most valuable? We don't know this product very well yet, but what we have used so far and what we like are user control, bandwidth, and access. For each access point, there is one that controls the application, the layer and bandwidth quota. What needs improvement? The support needs improvement because it is not very good in terms of response time. It takes to long to resolve issues. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using this solution for two to three months. What do I think about the stability of the solution? In the short time that we have been using this solution, it has been stable, and we haven't had any issues. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? This solution is scalable. At the moment we have one hundred users, but our target is more than three thousand. How are customer service and technical support? The technical support is okay, but the response time is not very good. It takes too long to resolve the issues. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was straightforward. It was easy. What other advice do I have? I would rate this solution a nine out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect scalability, and great stability with no need for a physical controller What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for expanding the capabilities of the network to wireless devices. What is most valuable? The solution is overall a great product. The stability is one of the best aspects of it. It's also useful in helping control multiple access points. You don't need to have a physical controller like other brands. What needs improvement? In some models, you need to buy the antenna separately. They should put the antenna in the box and make it a full product. The non-antenna option does not work as well. Also, if you're not very aware, you might just buy the model that doesn't include the antenna and then you have to wait for a very long time for the antenna to arrive. It's not a good idea to sell it without the antenna. It's an unnecessary additional cost. The initial setup has a lot of options, which makes it very versatile yet very complicated to install. There should be two modes: a basic mode and then a more advanced mode to help make implementation easier. Most of the time, if it's a small installation, you don't need the complexity. You shouldn't need higher expertise in order to install a couple of access points in a single place. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution since the HP acquisition. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability of the solution is good. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability of the solution is perfect. When you first start to use it, you have an increased amount of access points, and when you extend the network it's very easy. We have about 25-50 devices. How are customer service and technical support? We've never had to contact technical support, so I don't have any experience to speak to. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is okay, but only if you know what you are doing. Deployment takes a few hours. What about the implementation team? I handled the implementation myself. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The solution is more expensive than other similar solutions, but it's worth the price. What other advice do I have? We're an Aruba partner. We use the on-premises deployment model. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, has the ability to run a single WiFi SSID, and support is good What is our primary use case? We're basically using the solution to replace our StarVPN connectivity. Prior to this, we had a bunch of VPNs that were creating our WAN that would link back to our central office. It simplified our network. That's what we used it for. We installed one in every office to create the WAN between offices. In the potential next phase, we were looking to then possibly decrease our internet connectivity to each site, however, we didn't do that quite yet. What is most valuable? The two most valuable features for us were the fact that we were able to simplify and recreate our WAN with a similar security presence and also the ability to run a single WiFi SSID across the entire company with authentication. What needs improvement? It worked as delivered, and therefore, there's nothing to really add. If you were asking me what they could do better, unfortunately, I quite honestly can't think of anything right now. It doesn't mean that if I was in the middle of using it, there isn't something that would be annoying to me. However, right now, it’s absolutely fine. The integration, pricing, and configuration could always be improved upon. For how long have I used the solution? I’ve used the solution for two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It's quite stable. It didn't come down yet. We didn't have any issues for the past year or so. We did execute a couple of updates. Those were clean and it worked just fine. It’s reliable. The performance is good. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It worked for the scale that we asked it to. That said, we installed it and we didn't grow it. The whole company, about 175 people, use the product. How are customer service and support? The technical support was great. We’ve been satisfied with their service. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I’ve also dealt with Cisco and found Aruba more affordable with better support. How was the initial setup? It was straightforward to set up. It worked as advertised. I didn't do the actual deployment myself. However, my deployment team was able to roll it out earlier than projected. Prior to making the selection, I had estimated more time than it took for us to deploy. In that sense, it was fantastic. The deployment was very quick. We've got five people supporting all of our networking and hardware requirements. We don't have any one person dedicated to it. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I’m not sure of the exact pricing of the product. What other advice do I have? This solution is more than worth considering. I've used Aruba in different organizations. It historically has, to me, been an easier install than Cisco wireless solutions have been. It consistently gives similar services at a lower price point. I have found that their pre-sales teams and support have been better than similarly situated Cisco WiFi and WAN products. I’d rate the solution an eight out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Offers per-user tunneling to endpoints with multi-zone capabilities and excellent support What is our primary use case? I've deployed in multiple healthcare environments and significant infrastructure in higher education. We have a variety of corporate environments, and they range anywhere from two APs to 2000 APs. What is most valuable? The solution has full integration with their NAC, and their ClearPass service. Specifically, with the wireless LAN, they have a layer 7 firewall at every AP. They have extensive firewall capabilities in the controller. They have a capability called multi-zone, where you can terminate one AP to multiple controllers, and that's a unique thing for Aruba. They offer per-user tunneling to a variety of endpoints. What needs improvement? The product needs some simplification of the configuration for their security tools or for SD-WAN, specifically. We call it SD-WAN. They need automation wizards and things like that, including macros. There’s a bit of complexity in the initial setup. For how long have I used the solution? I’ve used the solution for eight or nine years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution’s stability is rock solid. It’s reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. The performance is good. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is quite scalable. I know of an installation that has 55,000 APs. It’s extremely stable, and they had no problem going to that size. How are customer service and support? Their tech support is excellent. Their tech is up there with any of the other major manufacturers. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We actually represent a variety. We have several in our portfolio of products, and Aruba and Cisco are the top two. Cisco and Meraki being the top of the Cisco brands. Compared to those, Aruba has a more customer-friendly focus for its business model, not only on the support function but also on the acquisition and operation side. Where I mentioned the complexity before, Meraki has simplified its installation. That's something that if Aruba could accomplish what Meraki did with their simple installation plan, they would be top-notch in every area. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is complex and not that intuitive. We have a higher-end installation where there are a couple of thousand users, endpoints, and so on. With several thousand endpoints, a couple of thousand users, there are only two people on staff supporting it. It’s low-maintenance. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? As a service model that's fully supported, that can be $30 a month with no capital outlay at all. Extra costs depend on the model and the deployment. There are standard maintenance requirements for license maintenance and so on, for supportability. However, there are other models. For the smaller installations, anything of 128 APs or less, typically there are no additional costs. The licensing is incorporated as part of the base and a limited lifetime warranty covers the repair and replacement of the APs. We typically don't sell maintenance on those. They are just spare units, and the customers love them. What other advice do I have? We are partners and resellers. The solution is a mix of on-premises and cloud deployments. I’d rate the solution a ten out of ten. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Partner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A secure, scalable solution with excellent software and hardware What is our primary use case? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is deployed for communication, and we have about 13 sites controlled in a centralized location. We have next-step security authentication, and it supports end-user secure connectivity. The combination and mechanism of multiple servers are used to authenticate the user to connect to the network securely. How has it helped my organization? Our whole company uses this network, providing wireless connectivity on all sides. So this solution impacts our day-to-day tasks. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is security, which is important to the company and end user. In addition, the solution's strong security mechanism and user-friendly web console are great. The software and hardware are excellent, and we can efficiently deploy and manage these devices. Regarding additional features, the solution currently has a Windows update problem. As a result, the solution requires daily Windows updates and installations as well as launches of new patches. It also requires updates to the iOS firmware to support the day-to-day patches submitted by Windows. What needs improvement? Because we work out of Pakistan, we sometimes have to deploy this solution in areas with a lot of dust. So, it would be great if Aruba improves the environmental hardware materials to mitigate troubleshooting and decrease the amount of dust it accumulates. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using this solution for seven years and recently deployed the latest version. It is deployed on a local network. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. We have a lot of users, most of whom are IT specialists. For example, we have four people required for maintenance in the IT department and two junior network engineers continuously controlling the solution. How are customer service and support? The technical support for this product regarding the vendor is great. Our principal or local vendor is available to facilitate any issues that arise. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? Before using Aruba Networks Wireless WAN, we had been working on Cisco and Awale, which are somewhat competitors of this solution. We also deployed Awale, which works fine, but Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is widely used in our company. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was straightforward, and it took about two days to deploy. We used a third party to deploy the network and performed day-to-day tasks easily. There was no issue with installation, and deployment on a large scale was painless. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Regarding licensing costs, our procurement and finance departments are directly involved, and we evaluate the functionality of this product. Based on the market comparison, Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is cheaper than Cisco, and the web experience is great. As a result, its functionality and performance are practical. Which other solutions did I evaluate? If we were not using Aruba Networks Wireless WAN, we would use Cisco. Cisco and Aruba have the same solution and provide a controller-based network and ISE. The functionality of both devices is the same, and the key difference is the vendor and branding. The dependability and scalability of both products are good too. What other advice do I have? I rate this solution an eight out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, easy to implement and has helpful support What is our primary use case? We have vertical markets and there's almost no real use case since it's all industry. Aruba is not really designed to be used in private households. We do have a few private customers. However, they have a very high demand on security. If they have a high demand on the performance, we definitely reach with Aruba however, the majority of our customers are industry related. How has it helped my organization? For one customer, what happened was they used to be on a different network on NPLS. That was very expensive and software-defined wide-area networking is a huge cost saving and much easier to be managed. What is most valuable? The solution can save money and can be easily implemented, depending on the environment. It’s very stable and reliable. What needs improvement? There aren’t really any large improvements necessary. There are smaller improvements we request, however, they are communicated directly. We are not an end-customer. We use our direct channels. The initial setup is complex. For how long have I used the solution? I’ve been using Aruba since 2005. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is very, very stable. It’s not buggy. It’s not glitchy. It doesn’t crash or freeze. It’s very reliable. The performance is great. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is scalable in its limits. It's scalable. The main purpose is for bigger organizations - for public, schools, universities, or bigger industries. You could scale it down also to household usage or to high-demand private usage. You can do a lot with it. We have implemented it twice on a university campus and there we have maybe 2,000 to 3000 users. We have industry users. I would say it could be anything between 3,000 and 10,000 users. If it is a midsize company, they don't have planning for scaling expenditure. With the bigger companies, they plan to expand, however, then you always bump into Cisco. It’s the biggest competitor and the most popular one. How are customer service and support? Customer service from HP is pretty good. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We didn’t really use a different solution. There wasn't much in the market in 2005. When we started, we started with wireless into the early and late nineties. By that time, you had very small island solutions. There were three coming market and a few other products that were controller-based, and almost nothing was controller based. If you look at the competitors, they're almost all the same, they're just the different flavors and whatever you are used to it and how comfortable you feel with the product. We do WAN products with Aruba. We do WAN products with Fortinet as well. We do software-defined networking, the same as Aruba offers; however, there's not much difference between them. We’ve also used Ruckus. We have a few customers in the carrier business, and Ruckus is primarily used in the carrier business. It's placed in the same league as Aruba. How was the initial setup? In terms of the initial setup, it’s complex. It's not straightforward. The only straightforward item is the very instant access points; however, as soon as we’re working in a complex environment, then it takes a lot of knowledge. It takes good knowledge and could take a few days to implement. I’d rate it a two out of five on a scale from one to five, where one is extremely difficult, and five is extremely easy. We are a very small company. We normally use the IT department of our customers, and they are trained. They keep maintaining their own system. For smaller customers, we do the maintenance, and we also do the monitoring. We have partner companies. We swap our 24/7 services. If you offer 24-hour service, it takes about six to eight technicians to take care of the 24/7 services. What was our ROI? We don't monitor if the company or the customer has any ROI. It's quite difficult to answer what the ROI is, and what the return of investment is. Most customers don't even look at ROI on wireless. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The license is a one-time subscription. It's a one-time purchase, however, the update is a subscription. It is unfortunately very expensive. The subscription, the software maintenance subscription, and even the one-off pricing are very high. The license costs reflect the features. The more features you require, the more you have to pay. What other advice do I have? We use different versions of Aruba. We are Aruba partners. As a partner, of course, I will try to encourage other people to look at Aruba and implement Aruba. Some of the features are not unique however they are very highly developed, and the solution is highly sophisticated. It's the best of its breed. As a partner with different vendors, however, you have to look at the requirements, and you have to make a decision on the requirements. I’d rate the solution a ten out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:partner/implementer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable with good coverage and decent pricing What is our primary use case? We use it for wireless access in our sales offices. It is a wireless access network. What is most valuable? It works well. It is reliable. We just upgraded it to 6G. The main reason why we chose Aruba is that we are an Aruba partner and we get significant discounts on Aruba. The initial setup is straightforward and simple. It is scalable. It's providing us with the coverage that we need. The speed is good. Basically, you set it up and forget it, which is good. What needs improvement? We're not very sophisticated with it. We just use the wireless and it just does what we need it to. It works. We don't look at it any deeper than that and don't find any features ar missing. We had one problem with one of our remote sites. We opened up a ticket and it turned out there was a problem with one of the end users' desktop. It needed to be patched and support was very good about it. They told us about it and we did it and it worked. It was nothing to do with the product itself, really. For how long have I used the solution? We've used the solution for ten years or so. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability, in general, is good. We have problems from time to time; however, for those cases, most of the time, it's related to users. They might have patches that need to be installed or things like that. It's generally reliable and there are no bugs or glitches. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It meets our needs. We find it to be scalable. We have maybe 20 to 30 people using the solution at this time. We do not have plans to increase usage as we don't have any other locations for anything. How are customer service and support? Tech support is efficient. If we have a problem, we open up a ticket and they help. How was the initial setup? The solution is easy to set up. It is straightforward and simple. It's not overly complex. We have one person on staff that can deploy and maintain the product. They are a network admin. What was our ROI? I wasn't involved in the process of looking into ROI, if that was even considered. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is good for us. As a partner, we get discounts. I don't have any information in regards to the exact costs we pay. What other advice do I have? We are resellers of Aruba. We don't do a lot with the wireless. We consume it. We don't sell it. The solution works well and it does what we need it to do. It's a good product. Cloud management works very well. I would recommend cloud management to others any day. I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Partner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An engineer with enough experience can tune the network however they want What is our primary use case? We use Aruba Wireless at a big trading center in two ways. One use case is a corporate network with restrictions, and another is for customers. For our corporate use case, we have around 30 people on various devices, like laptops and mobile phones. In the second case, we provide access to around 1,000 users. What is most valuable? An engineer with enough experience can tune the network however they want. It's crucial. It's good to customize our information security how we like it and configure the solution to achieve the level of stability we need. What needs improvement? Support is a little expensive. It's also a little tricky to configure Aruba sometimes. For example, if we want to whitelist a device, it works in unexpected ways. I want to allow this device to connect somewhere, and it lets it connect to any device in the network. Let's say I want to allow my phone to connect to the network printer, but if I add my phone to the white list, I automatically allow my phone to connect to any other devices, and it's not secure. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using Aruba Wireless for a year and a half. How are customer service and support? My team is highly experienced, so I haven't needed support so far. How was the initial setup? Setting up Aruba Networks is a little difficult, but experienced professionals can handle it, and we have help from partners, so it's not a problem. In Ukraine, there are several companies with expertise in Aruba. We can pay them for the initial setup and some training. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? We pay every year for Aruba Central. It's a subscription. In other cases, we use Aruba AirWave on-premise, and that's a one-time payment. What other advice do I have? I rate Aruba Networks Wireless WAN nine out of 10. It's a stable solution with advanced technical capabilities. We never need to worry if it's going to work. Like any professional solution, you need to do some evaluation before implementing it in a project. The customer must fully understand the project requirements before they buy and implement it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great data encryption, centralized management, and integrated compatibility What is our primary use case? The primary use case of the solution is to provide wireless access while protecting our data transfers. The solution can be deployed on-premise and in the cloud. What is most valuable? Aruba makes use of "Direct Tunnel" as its best security feature. The feature creates a direct tunnel from the endpoint to the controller, ensuring that all data is encrypted. This prevents the possibility of a man-in-the-middle attack compromising the AP since the data from the endpoint to the Aruba Access Controller is encrypted. The Aruba Network solution offers centralized management, integrated compatibility with other equipment, and enhanced security features. What needs improvement? Aruba's technical support has room for improvement. Currently, their response time is slow. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using the solution for seven years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is quite good. The stability relies on complete network deployment. If the network deployment is not good, and all the features are not used correctly, any solution can provide instability if not implemented correctly. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability is very good. I give the scalability a nine out of ten. How are customer service and support? The technical support is slow at responding. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is straightforward and simple. The deployment takes up to one week, or only one or two days for a testing environment on the POC. From a deployment standpoint, my CTO and I have created a comprehensive plan for installing the APs at various locations in the customer's environment. I will go on-site and provide guidance to the customer's technical team to ensure a successful deployment. What about the implementation team? The implementations are completed at the customer sites with our assistance. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The licenses are available as both perpetual or yearly. The prices of Aruba are fairly reasonable, and they can be adjusted to meet the specific needs of the customer. Everything required for a deployment is included with the license. What other advice do I have? I give the solution a nine out of ten. We currently have three clients using the solution and have proposed it to multiple clients. I highly recommend Aruba Networks Wireless WAN due to its exceptional security features, which are essential for any wireless network. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flexible, scalable, and boosts mobility, but device integration has room for improvement How has it helped my organization? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN benefited my company because it increased mobility significantly. After all, users don't need to search for LAN cables in the conference rooms. Adoption was also relatively fast in terms of user onboarding. What is most valuable? What I like most about Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is seamless integration from an endpoint perspective, for example, the core domain joined machine. I also find the onboarding process for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN fantastic. Another valuable feature of the product is authentication, as Aruba Networks Wireless WAN supports certificate-based authentication. It has remarkable security features, particularly in its machine and user authentication levels. What needs improvement? Device integration has room for improvement in Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. However, there has been a development where the access point can be deployed through cloud-based controllers. It can connect via the internet and doesn't require MPS connectivity, but that can be improved further. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using Aruba Networks Wireless WAN for around six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN has good stability, so that's a nine out of ten for me. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability of Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is good. The only constraint is that the hardware comes with a fixed number of access point support, which becomes problematic if you have an on-premise deployment. Still, if you plan for the capacity in advance, then it's okay. That could be a constraint from a large deployment when the access point only lasts two or three years. I don't want to put a high number or high capacity on the hardware on the first day, so scalability-wise, I rate Aruba Networks Wireless WAN as five out of ten. How are customer service and support? The technical support for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is good. That area is an eight out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? I'd rate the initial setup for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN as six out of ten. One of my Aruba Networks Wireless WAN deployments took two and a half months. Deploying the product entailed site-specific surveying, identifying access point location, how my controller will be set up on-premises, the IP schema to be utilized for the access point, IP allocation, and which access IDs I'm going to broadcast. What about the implementation team? My team and I deployed Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. What was our ROI? I enjoyed almost fifty percent of the cost reduction from Aruba Networks Wireless WAN because it helped reduce the LAN infrastructure, such as switching hardware, LAN cables, etc. I no longer needed to deploy the switches and LAN cables for every point, which resulted in an almost fifty percent reduction in costs compared to the past cost computations. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is pretty cost-efficient than Cisco ISE when my company did a PO, but for a single-party tender, its pricing was on the higher side, so it depends. I rate the pricing for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN as six out of ten. What other advice do I have? I have experience with Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. My company has a 7200 series Aruba controller, almost five hundred access points, and Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager. My company's existing database is deployed on-premises, including the controller, access point, and the Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager. A team of five people, including myself, deployed Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. It was a process of putting and mounting access points. I also had two members in charge of configuring the switches while I configured the controller and the Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager. Once access points become visible on the controller, my team will proceed to the template configuration deployment for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. The deployment team consisted of five L1s, three L2s, and me, so a total of nine. My unit deployed five hundred access points to six thousand end users. My team of eight takes care of administration. Aruba Networks Wireless WAN requires maintenance, for example, upgrading the controller or the Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager and then posture agent deployment for six thousand users. Any agent upgrade means deployment for the users as well. I'd tell anyone looking into implementing Aruba Networks Wireless WAN that it's a good solution with many advantages, such as mobility, flexibility, and scalability, so I suggest using Aruba Networks Wireless WAN to enhance user experience. My rating for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is seven out of ten. My role is similar to an integrator of Aruba Networks Wireless WAN. My company is an Aruba Networks customer.
