Anthony R. Foxx
Chief Policy Officer and Senior Advisor to the President & CEO, Lyft, Inc.
Anthony Foxx currently serves as a member of our Board of Directors and as a manager of CDW LLC, our wholly owned subsidiary. Foxx also serves as the chief policy officer and senior advisor to the president and chief executive officer of Lyft, a position he has held since October 2018.
Prior to joining Lyft, Inc., Foxx served as Managing Partner of Related Infrastructure, the infrastructure development group of Related Companies, a real estate firm, from December 2017 to October 2018. Foxx served as the seventeenth United States Secretary of Transportation from 2013 to 2017. Previously, Foxx served as the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, from 2009 to 2013. First elected to the Charlotte City Council in 2005, upon his 2009 mayoral victory he became the youngest mayor in Charlotte’s history and its second African American mayor.
Foxx serves on the board of directors of Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., NXP Semiconductors N.V. and Shelter Acquisition Corp. He also serves on the Advisory Board of AutoTech Ventures and the Board of Directors of The Volcker Alliance. He is a Senior Fellow at the Harvard University Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and Executive in Residence, Carnegie Mellon University. He holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from New York University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), History, from Davidson College.
