More About Cat5 Cables
While a cat5 cable can handle 10/100 Mbps Ethernet speeds, a cat5e cable (also known as a cat 5 enhanced cable) can accommodate 1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds for better transmission performance. Both cat5 cables and cat5e cables are equipped for a bandwidth of 100 MHz, but the cat5e cable is designed to reduce crosstalk. This means that a cat5e cable is better at preventing interference between signals on different channels or circuits than a traditional cat5 Ethernet cable.
CDW carries cat5 patch cables from all the top brands, including Belkin, Tripp Lite and C2G. We stock cat5 Ethernet cables longer than 1,000 feet as well as cat5 patch cables shorter than 3 feet. To ensure a fast Ethernet, telephone or video connection, grab one of our cat5e cables above.
