License 6.0 highlights:
Microsoft Select License 6.0 provides volume licenses for medium-
and large-sized businesses. With a minimum forecast of 1500 points
over three years, you will receive a volume price level for each pool
of products selected (Applications, Systems and Servers) based on
this forecast. Each product pool within the Select License program has
a point value assigned which enables customers to determine the price
level for each product pool.
The Select License Offers the Following Basic Elements:
Price Level Forecasting
Select License customers have two options for determining their Select
License price level. You may either 1) Forecast the number of licenses
you plan to acquire over the 3-year term of your agreement or 2) Establish
the Select License 6.0 price level based upon an existing Enterprise Agreement
desktop count.
Price Level Adjustments
Each year, on the anniversary of the Select License agreement, a company's
license acquisition for the preceding 12 calendar months will be compared
against the initial forecast.
Product Pools
There are three product categories (called pools) from which you may
elect to acquire software licenses if elected on the Select License
agreement: Applications, Systems and Servers. Product pool categories
enable you to aggregate the point values of a variety of similar Microsoft
product licenses in order to achieve higher volume price levels for
a particular pool. Initial price levels are established according
to the total point value of product licenses forecasted within each
pool. You may not combine point values for licenses acquired across
pools to achieve higher price levels. Points must be counted separately
for each pool.
Price Levels and Point Minimums
Volume price levels are initially assigned according to the number
of points in a product pool that are forecasted over a 3-year period.
Points within each product pool are totaled to determine a price level.
This means that orders placed for products in each of the three product
pools may have three separate price levels, one for each product pool.
The point minimums per price level per product pool can be satisfied
in three ways; by acquiring new Licenses, the License & Software
Assurance package or by acquiring the Software Assurance part number
for products already covered by License & Software Assurance from
a previous order.
Point Values
Each Microsoft product is assigned a point value. A specific point
value for each Microsoft product is listed in the product list. Call
your CDW account manager for point values on specific products. In
some cases, a single product license equates to more than one point.
A point value of two does not mean that you will receive two separate
licenses; it means you will receive two points toward the price level.
There are four Select License price levels.
Level Adjustment
On an annual basis, Microsoft will review your actual acquisition
history for the preceding 12 months against the forecasted price level
for each product pool. For the first review, Microsoft will check
the acquisition history to determine whether 1/3 of the Forecast was
met and if the price level needs to be reset. This process also will
be repeated at the 24-month milestone. Depending on the actual acquisition
history, the price level may be releveled upwards, downwards or remain
the same.

term and, if necessary releveled according to the appropriate

1/3 and 2/3 of a higher pricing level, at the 12-month and 24-month
check, then you will be releveled upwards |

you will be releveled downwards
