Supported Applications

CA ARCserve Backup supports the following applications to host the CA ARCserve Backup database (ASDB):
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition. This is the default CA ARCserve Backup database application.

Note: To install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition on Windows Server 2003 systems, SP2 is required. Otherwise, you must install a supported version of Microsoft SQL Server to host the CA ARCserve Backup database.

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise/Standard Edition, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 4, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

Note: In addition to these requirements, you should consider the disk space necessary for the default CA ARCserve Backup database. Depending upon usage, the database can grow to several GB in size.
