Wirespeed Layer 2 & 3 IPv4 switching and routing
Perfectly suited to networks of all sizes, but of particular benefit to medium-sized enterprises seeking advanced Layer 3 functionality and SFP deployment flexibility. Performs equally well in the core, aggregation or access tiers of the network. Richly featured with available dual hot-swappable power supplies and fans. Front -to-back cooling optimizes cooling. Very low latency policy-based QoS, utilizing 8 queues per port with 3-level drop precedence WRED support.
Features:
1RU form factor
Front to back cooling for optimum airflow
Operating temperature to 50°C (122°F)
Wirespeed Layer 2 & 3 IPv4 switching and routing
Up to 256K Layer 3 IPv4 address table entries
-For 256K Layer 3 IPv4 address table entries, the 256MB SDRAM must be fitted
4096 VLANS with VLAN double tagging
Private VLANs for security and port isolation
Supports 10KByte Jumbo frame size
-When Jumbo frame support is enabled, the MRU is 9714 bytes for ports operating at 10/100Mbps, and 10,240 bytes (10KBytes) at 1Gbps.
Compact Flash port on front panel
Asynchronous management port on front panel
Full environmental monitoring
Extensive wire-speed traffic classification
Policy based QoS features
Min / max bandwidth control with bandwidth slice resolution down to 1Kbps for QoS Traffic classes
Buffered max bandwidth control at egress on all ports, and on each of 8 egress queues per port
Two rate three colour (green, yellow, red) bandwidth metering, with burst sizes for improved TCP-IP bandwidth limiting performance
Low switching latency, ideal for voice and multi-media applications
Advanced routing protocols OSPF, BGP4, RIP and RIPv2, DVMRP, PIM-SM, PIM-DM
MSTP (802.1s)
Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) will be available in a future software release.
Port trunking (802.3ad LACP)
Port mirroring
Wire-speed multicasting
Management stacking with open standards based interfaces
SSH for secure management
802.1x support
SNMPv3
TACACS+
