Paradyne's Network Extender provides an ideal solution for metro LAN extension, Cellular Site backhaul or any point-to-point application requiring Ethernet connectivity over the WAN. Network Extenders transport Ethernet directly over either SHDSL, T1 or E1 — making it easy to interconnect LANs over virtually any distance. For higher bandwidth requirements — such as with wireless 3G set backhaul — multiple circuits may be bonded together to form higher-capacity Ethernet WAN connections. Paradyne's loop bonding technology is a fast-convergence, fully redundant and load-sharing solution that provides a highly scalable and reliable solution.
Network Extenders work in pairs or in conjunction with Paradyne's 12000-series Broadband Loop Carriers, creating either a single point-to-point LAN extension or a fully managed aggregation point for multiple extensions. In point-to-point configurations, the Provider modem sits at the Central Office or "head end" of the connection and controls all configurable options, and the Subscriber sits at the customer premise. When you are ready to scale up to a full BLC deployment, your Provider modems can be re-deployed as Subscriber modems, fully protecting your hardware investment.
