The Microtech FireSCSI Xpress adapter enables existing and new high-speed SCSI peripherals to be attached to the FireWire (IEEE -1394) port of a Macintosh or Windows PC. The FireSCSI Xpress adapter uniquely blends the high speed data transfer rate and the plug and play capabilities of FireWire technology with the versatility of the SCSI interface to provide easy to use, high performance, external peripheral connectivity. Ideal for Apple G3/G4, iMac DV, or any FireWire equipped PC.
Installation is simple. No add-in cards and no need to open the system. Just connect the FireSCSI Xpress adapter to the SCSI device and plug the FireWire connector into the FireWire port of a Mac or PC. The FireSCSI Xpress adapter is designed to take advantage of the SBP2 compliant driver support included in the Mac OS 9.0.4, Windows 98 SE, and Windows 2000 operating systems.
Building upon Microtech's widely accepted external USB and SCSI port interfacing technologies, the FireSCSI Xpress adapter once again offers industry leading performance, compatibility, and overall reliability. The FireSCSI Xpress adapter is configured with an Apple SCSI-style DB25 female connector for the peripheral interface and a type B IEEE-1394 connector for the host interface. Using the appropriate cable, the FireSCSI Xpress can be interfaced to either 4 or 6 pin IEEE-1394 host ports. An LED indicates power and activity on the SCSI bus. The FireSCSI Xpress adapter can run from either IEEE-1394 cable power or SCSI termination power. A power input connector is also provided to allow an external power source.
