The affordable way to protect your network from Internet hackers
The 3Com® OfficeConnect® Internet Firewall DMZ provides affordable Internet security for up to 100 users on your local area network (LAN). Plus, it features a demilitarized zone (DMZ) port that lets customers access your site without exposing your network to attack. This International Computer Security Association (ICSA)-certified device denies unauthorized access and prevents denial-of-service (DoS) hacker attacks - including Ping of Death, SYN Flood, LAND Attack, IP Spoofing, Teardrop, and Bonk. If hackers try to use Java, ActiveX, and "cookie" technologies to attack your network, the 3Com OfficeConnect Internet Firewall DMZ either blocks applications entirely or enables them only from trusted sites. It also controls Internet usage from your LAN. You can prevent access to inappropriate material, keep a log of which sites are being accessed most frequently, and analyze the bandwidth usage of your Internet connection.
All users on the network can be connected to the Internet through one IP address, a feature that saves money by eliminating the need for multiple IP addresses and, in some cases, the need for a specialized router
Easy to install and use, the firewall fits between an Ethernet hub or switch and the modem or router using standard Ethernet connections; it comes preconfigured and can be customized using a simple Web interface; little or no technical expertise is required
Network Address Translation (NAT) lets multiple users access the Internet using an Ethernet modem and a low-cost Internet account
The 3Com® OfficeConnect® Internet Firewall DMZ provides effective and secure firewall protection using technology similar to that used in systems employed by large organizations - at a fraction of the cost
The DMZ port is protected from DoS hacker attacks, but can be accessed by external Internet users, making it an essential tool for e-business
