Flexible, Cost-Effective Extended Reach Avoid fiber cable installation expenses and problems or monthly T1/E1 charges by connecting LANs over secure, high-speed wireless links. The outdoor building-to-building bridge with integrated 18dBi high-gain panel antenna is designed for short or long distance (up to 17 km or 10 miles) communications. Deployed with 3Com 11g 54Mbps Wireless LAN Indoor Building-to-Building Bridges, 3Com gives you an intelligent, economical solution for connecting LANs in campus-like settings.

The 11g 54Mbps bridge delivers ten to twenty times the bandwidth of T1/E1 links and supports up to 1000 clients. It will operate in a either point-to-point or point-to-multipoint configuration to meet growth and application demands. 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 PWR Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch, IntelliJack PoE power sources, or other PoE injectors can supply both power and data to the bridge over network cabling.

WPA and AES encryption provide the latest industry- standard high security while WEP encryption supports legacy wireless installations. The wireless bridge also supports the latest 802.1X server authentication. VPN and VLAN support keeps network data private and transmissions safe from security breaches. Setup wizard software makes installation and configuration easy. Once setup is complete, the building-to-building bridge can be remotely managed using a standard Web browser or SNMP management tools.

802.1X server authentication with PEAP and EAP-TTLS support help ensure that only authorized users access the network and centralizes authentication control and management

VPN and VLAN pass-through creates secure tunnels for remote site-to-site or site-to-user data exchange

Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topology support provides maximum flexibility in configuring building-to-building networks; point-to-multipoint configuration supports up to seven bridge connections

Web browser, SNMP, and 3ND support enable administrators to remotely manage the bridge from anywhere and seamlessly integrate the wireless LAN with enterprise management tools

PoE switch or power injector can supply both data and power over the network so wireless bridges do not need power adapters, power cords, or AC outlets

Dynamic rate shifting keeps network connections continuously available by automatically adjusting to signal strength and environmental conditions

Weatherproof, fire-resistant National Electronics Manufacturers Assoc. (NEMA) 250 enclosure meets stringent outdoor environmental, safety, and security specifications

Integrated 18dBi panel antenna maintains a consistently strong directional signal
