The system features Navtech map data which provides detailed street-level maps to any destination. In addition, the iPAQ Navigation System features an extensive point-of-interest database, with over one million entries, to quickly and easily direct you to nearby restaurants, hotels, gas stations and more.
The iPAQ Navigation System features an easy-to-use interface which allows you to input your destination address in 6 different ways: address, intersection, point of interest, favorites, recent destinations, or select a destination directly from your Microsoft Pocket Outlook contacts list. Once you're on your way the iPAQ Navigation System provides a dynamic moving map display which follows your current location to guide you as you drive. In addition you receive visual and spoken guidance as you drive to with turn-by-turn directions. The on-screen display allows you to view real-time trip information including remaining distance, estimated time of arrival, and time to destination.
Once your trip is underway the iPAQ Navigation System gives you plenty of flexibility to reach your destination quickly and easily. Specify your routing options to route by shortest distance, fastest route, or by avoiding freeways. The dynamic route calculation engine not only quickly calculates your initial route, but monitors your progress along the way and automatically reroutes you if you miss a turn along the way.
The Bluetooth GPS receiver that is included with the iPAQ Navigation system gives you the ability to locate the GPS receiver anywhere in your vehicle for optimal signal quality while still connecting to your iPAQ Pocket PC over the wireless Bluetooth link. The receiver features fast GPS acquisition time - less than 45 seconds for a cold start, 38 seconds for a warm start and 8 seconds for a hot start. With the internal rechargeable battery, the GPS receiver provides 8 hours of continuous operation on a single charge. To ensure convenient power source is always available, the GPS receiver utilizes the same power port used on the HP iPAQ Pocket PC devices so that you can charge your GPS receiver using the AC adapter or auto adapter you already own.
