The Tandberg Data LTO-4 tape drive is designed for integration into servers and desktop enclosures. It offers twice the capacity and 50% greater transfer rate over previous generation LTO-3.
The Tandberg Data LTO-4 drive offers features that can help increase throughput and capacity over previous generation LTO drives – while also assisting in protecting critical data. Digital Speed Matching (DSM) is designed to help improve throughput in environments where the host data rate is less than optimal; reduction of the overall power consumption from that of previous generation LTO drives. A redesigned head actuator provides improved read head tracking capability and performance. Enhanced power management results in reduced heat dissipation and greater operational efficiency than that of previous generation LTO drives.
The Tandberg Data LTO-4 drive is read/write compatible with all LTO-3 media, and will read LTO-2 media, resulting in strong Return On Investment (ROI) and low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in your LTO media tape storage investment.
The high performance and capacity of LTO-4 can help reduce the number of tape cartridges, tape drives and tape libraries required in a storage environment. Compatibility with prior generations of LTO media makes it possible for our customers to easily migrate to LTO-4.
