Using the XJACK antenna, there is no need to remove the PC Card from the notebook
The 3Com 11Mbps Wireless LAN PC Card provides easy to use, reliable wireless connections. The patented retractable XJACK antenna extends for excellent reception and retracts for convenience and travel. Support for WEP encryption, 802.1x, Dynamic Security Link, and Serial Authentication provides multiple high-security options for corporate 802.11b deployments.
Patented XJACK antenna: Extends for excellent wireless LAN performance, and retracts for safe travel and transport. Using the XJACK antenna, there is no need to remove the PC Card from the notebook.
Infrastructure and ad hoc networking: Lets users connect to a network through a wireless LAN access point or directly to another WLAN client device when an access point is not available.
802.l11b, 802.1x, EAP-MD5, EAP-TLS, 40/64- and 104/128-bit WEP Supports a variety of standards ensuring compatibility with a wide range of access points and network infrastructures.
Wi-Fi certification: Ensures this PC Card will interoperate with other Wi-Fi certified products-from 3Com and other vendors.
3Com Dynamic Security Link Delivers user-specific, 128-bit encryption keys that change for each networking session, plus user authentication when the PC Card is used in combination with the 3Com AP 6000 or AP 8000.
3Com Serial Authentication Provides an upper-layer authentication mechanism that uses both EAP-TLS and EAP-MD5 when the PC Card is used with the 3Com AP 8000. Using these two complimentary authentication mechanisms together greatly enhances security by requiring both a username/password as well as an electronic security certificate to gain access to the network.
IEEE 802.1x: Provides IEEE standard port-based network access control. Users are authorized to use the wireless LAN through a RADIUS server.
Multiple authentication protocols: Gives you support for EAP-MD5, EAP-TLS, Dynamic Security Link, and Serial Authentication for maximum flexibility in deploying user authentication.
Encryption: Uses 40-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption*, helping to keep all wireless transmissions private.
