All the standard Internet/intranet services and applications are pre-installed, pre-configured, and manageable through the Sun Cobalt Server Desktop, an intuitive and customizable browser-based interface. The Sun Cobalt Qube 3 appliance's new software architecture was designed to make the deployment of new additional layered services as easy as a click of a button, meaning that you can integrate new applications to fit your needs. The Sun Cobalt BlueLinQ Application Delivery Service technology will give customers instant access to new updates and services as they become available.

Designed to support as many as 150 user accounts, the Sun Cobalt Qube 3 appliance has the ability to give just about anyone the power and versatility of an in-house network server. It can perform all the network management functionality traditionally handled by a more complex and expensive general-purpose server. It can also handle more than 35 million Web objects and 400,000 emails in a single day.

Web Publishing
Create and host your own Web site. The Sun Cobalt Qube 3 appliance offers integrated support for CGI, Perl and PHP scripting, Interbase 6®, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and is also pre-configured to support FrontPage® 2000 Server Extensions.

Email Services and WebMail
Host your mailboxes and provide advanced features including automatic forwarding, scheduled delivery, catch-all mailbox, vacation replies, archived mailing-lists... Give Web-based access to your mailboxes using Webmail.

Network Address Translation (NAT)
Share a single Internet connection with an entire office, while adding extra protection by hiding your internal network from the Internet.

Remote Access VPN
Give authorized remote users secure access to your internal network. Through PPTP, authenticated users on the Internet can securely access private networks behind Sun Cobalt Qube 3 appliances.

Cross-platform file services
Windows® and Mac OS® users can exchange information by using Windows and Apple File Sharing. The Sun Cobalt Qube 3 appliance also supports File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

Enhanced Backup/Restore
Backup and restore can be scheduled to a shared directory (Windows or NFS) or an FTP site.
