Lasso this 6-foot security cable around a stationary object, slide the lock into the notebook's built-in security slot and turn the key.
Notebook Guardian 2000 is a PVC-coated galvanized steel cable that locks into your notebooks existing security slot. It's simple to rig up; you simply place the main body of the cable around a solid object, such as a sturdy desk handle or other immovable object, before passing it through the loop at one end of the cable then locking the other end into the notebook's own security slot. To ensure a snug fit, the 2000 is provided with two washers that may be used to bulk-out the fastening if there is a gap between the locking device and the notebook slot. This ensures that the cable is firmly connected to the notebook when locked.
Notebook Guardian 2000 utilizes the built-in security slot that most notebook manufacturers have incorporated into the design of their products. To make things particularly easy for the user, instead of the usually untidy, loose cable being pushed into a side compartment of the notebook's carrying case, a small and practical nylon pouch is provided. Along with the pouch is a Velcro strap to keep the cable coiled, enabling the user to pop the neatly bagged cable in his or her case until it is required again. The 2000 is certainly small, light and tidy, so if you're looking for a neat way of securing your property this may provide an alternative to the less modern and bulkier models from the past.
