Tripp Lite UPS Remote Monitoring and control via SNMP, Web, or Telnet 2.7 5 11 11
Poor implementation This unit requires you to have an old version of java and connot be accessed from a mobile device. I dont feel like installing outdated, insecure versions of java on every machine that needs to access the unit. July 22, 2014
Failure and Garbage Installing and configuring these cards was not hard, however when changing settings like the IP or password, the cards need to restart and sometime they come back and sometimes they don't. Our campus has 12 buildings, which are not connected. Every network closet has at least 1 UPS. Upgrading the firmware is a horrible idea. 4 out of 5 cards will work, the 1 that doesn't becomes bricked and go into recovery mode which looks for a tftp server using a unsigned long address.I would never willingly purchase this brand of UPS systems or web cards again, nor will I recommend this brand. These cards are not worth more than $20 as they only make the monitoring worse and provide false warnings. June 27, 2014
Great product but version .0055 is better I experienced the new Web GUI interface that need Java 6/7 (firmware 12.06.0061) and this method is slower than a true Web Inteface that was avalaible with previous. MoreI'm still using the SNMPWEBCARD product, it's a very stable hardware. But I prefer to downgrade to version .0055 to keep the Web Interface (no Java). The customer service is also very fast and good to help us with this product. March 6, 2014
port scans cause it to crash I use spiceworks to manage my network. After the scan SW did not pick up the UPSs because the card wasn't responding to any traffic. I had to unplug the card to reset it and only then could I access the card. I have to use a screw driver to remove the two small screws holding the plate in place. Why didn't you use permanently mounted spring loaded screws on the card? It would be much faster and easier to install/remove.After a second scan the card was not responding again. Also the snmp output for load is off by a factor 10. I have a 17% load but the snmp scan says 170%. February 7, 2014
New firmware makes it better, but still not good enough The pre .55 firmware was buggy, inconsistent, and unstable. The new firmware .61 is better, but uses Java so it is slow to load. The web interface doesn't support a few important features like changing the time settings (really?!), and importing settings. It makes configuring a bunch of these devices a huge pain.It allows me to power cycle equipment remotely, so that's a plus. June 13, 2013
Works well enough. It is the standard card that comes with or is used to upgrade certain tripplite UPS or ASPDU devices. I have 6 of them connected to 4 SU3000RTXR3U and 2 PDUMH15ATNET and the only complaint beside the dated web interface is that I have never been able to figure out how to successfully update the firmware. This card not only allows the connectivity but allows you to customize labels for outlets and send alerts via e-mail or SNMP. You can also control shedding and monitor loads. The best thing is that you can remotely shutdown or power-cycle connected devices, which has saved me trips into the office in the middle of the night. Great Product This is a great product for monitoring. Currently in our data center we attempt to manage everything we can virtually so this product was put to great use in the production environment. The only current issue is, every time we make a settings change we seem to be locked out of the system for a great deal of time. Example, after we updated in "Network" the DNS settings we had to wait about 24 hours before we could log into the system again. The same was true when we updated passwords as well. Not sure if this is suppose to work like this or not. However, aside from the 24 hour lock out period following a change the product works well. March 11, 2013
Temperature and Humidity readings can be wrong! This product worked well for a bit. It takes alot fo time in your schedule to get these dialed in. Once you think you do, after alot of rebooting and reseeding the SNMP cards it will work. But there is alot more that doesnt work. The PANMS console service somehow loses communication alot and I have it loaded on a windows XP PC are required by TrippLite. PANMS Console has alot of issues and needs to be restarted often because it loses communications with the SNMP cards.Temperature readings are fine, but the humidity readings are way way off. These cards are never to be trusted. One day these cards are good, but not the next. December 27, 2012
