DESCRIPTION

Tripp Lite's AVR550U line interactive UPS offers complete protection for PCs, workstations and other sensitive electronics in an attractive ultra-compact, mountable housing. Prevents data loss and system downtime by providing battery supported AC output during blackouts and Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) during brownouts and overvoltages. 8 output receptacles, two of which are widely-spaced to accommodate large transformer plugs without blocking outlets. 4 outlets with full battery support and surge suppression protect computers, monitors and other vital system components from loss of power. 4 additional outlets with surge suppression-only are ideal for printers and other accessories not requiring battery support. Single line telephone suppression jacks protect modem, fax machine, cordless phone or other peripherals with a standard dialup or DSL phone line connection. USB port with PowerAlert monitoring software and cabling enables safe unattended system shutdown in the case of extended power failure. HID compliant USB interface enables full integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It has an on-off button, which is a big plus during power outages that trigger an alarm. The automatic voltage regulation prevents alarms going off when the line voltage drops during peak power demand periods and when line voltage spikes occur. Plenty of easily accessible outlets for its current use, protecting my OLED television and home theater electronics.

I installed the TrippLite 900V easily on my network and had another surge within an hour, and nothing was disrupted. Perfect solution for me.

Keeps my internet going when the power bounces (happens a lot here in the winter). Keeps things running until the home generator kicks in. Line interactive means that power gets smoothed out when there are surges and dips without using the battery.

Tried to use for planned outage on my C-PAP (no heater) - only lasted one hour of the planned four hour power outage, but performed as expected for that use. If a connection for additional battery was provided, it would be more useful. I Expect network router/ONT power backup time will be sufficient for temporary Internet access.

In my area, we have frequent power outages so it's a must that I have a backup. Every time we have an outage, my backup does it's thing. My hard drives are protected along with hundreds of client projects. Thank you Tripp-Lite!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy from Tripp Lite I've had this product about 6 months. I no longer works. I entered a support ticket and was told the battery was bad. I purchased a NEW battery. The unit still malfunctions. Now I'm told that the product is out of warranty. After 6 months? I purchased it NEW in January 2023! While it was a good product until it stopped working. Tripp-Lite's warranty is worthless since their tech support won't fix a broken unit.

After calculating the power we need for our instruments and computer, this UPS can provide about 10 mins of backup power. It's been about 6 months and all equipments have not shut down one time. The design is clean but the unit does take up some desk space. It will be nice if all 8 outlets have both surge protecting and backup battery function instead of only 4 them.

My power blinks often, resulting in a reboot of computers, routers, tv's, and other electronics. Tripp-Lite prevents all that. Usually the power is out for seconds but even if it's longer, I have time to start the generator before things shut down.

We have fibre internet and our computers, TV and landline depend on it being up. We have tried other brands of backups and they will not work while the generator is supplying power. These, however, are dependable and reasonably priced. I will continue to buy them when I need a backup power supply.

There is a three-year warranty and I attempted contacting customer support via a support ticket but got no response. Also, the chat feature on the TrippLite website was broken each of the several times I tried using it. I ended up purchasing a TrippLite replacement battery which was way overpriced but could not find a third-party alternative. In summary, my low rating is due to (1) terrible customer support, and (2) the high cost of replacement battery.

I tested it out by powering the computer, then unplugging the UPS. Everything kept running and the status LEDs showed what happened. The inverter inside was quiet--no fan to make noise. Now I am confident that I will have time to turn off my computer system when the power goes out. I am very satisfied with this power supply.

This UPS works perfectly and it's like other Tripp-Lite gear: No-nonsense, straightforward and honestly specified. That's the whole appeal of Tripp-Lite to me, and that design approach allows very competitive pricing. The software options offered by the PowerAlert app far exceed my needs, but its use is completely optional. I just couldn't be happier with this product, but that's what I expected from Tripp-Lite.

Tripp Lite is the only brand of UPS I have found that will work properly with a generator. We have 3 in our household - 2 for computer setups and 1 for the TV and accessories.

I use the UPS in my laptop setup whose components are not battery operated like the external monitor, the hub with the external drives, the scanner, etc. Time will tell how long it lasts but it works well for now. The instructions to use the Power Alert web interface were not complete. I had to search and eventually call for support to get the username password to use the app.
