Tripp Lite's SMART1500LCDT Line-Interactive Tower UPS System offers voltage regulation, surge suppression and long-lasting battery support for personal computers, network workstations, home entertainment systems and media centers. Internal UPS circuits support entry-level PCs or individual VCR/DVR components during power failures. Prevents data loss, viewing interruptions, lost recordings and loss of component programming.
Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) circuits continuously regulate brownouts and overvoltages from 92V to 150V back to usable levels, all while maintaining a full battery charge. Offers complete power protection in an attractive all-black cabinet design. Includes 10 built-in outlets, 5 with full battery backup and surge suppression for vital system components and another 5 with surge-suppression only for accessories not requiring battery support. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again…and I would let my Mother buy one! Admittedly I am not well versed in UPS's but live in an area that has pretty unpredictable power. I compared a number units and, based on brand recognition, positive reviews, price and features settled on this. I consulted my brother, an Electrical Engineer, who seconded my opinion. It has been trouble free so far and I am not expecting that to change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the product's features. I use it for power backup to internet connection, computer monitor and tower computer. I bought it because of amount of backup power, surge protection, and LINE CONDITIONING. To date it works. With the first unit, I experienced a strong acrid smell of warm or hot plastics that persisted for three days and returned it. The replacement still had a slight smell that gradually dissipated over 48 hours. I would encourage TrippLite to also tell customers that the fan runs only when needed.

I am replacing all of my UPS protection in my home on computers, entertainment setups and yes our new Pellet Stove. Must people don't think about a Pellet Stove, but when the power goes out, you need to allow the blowers on the stove to run at least 10 to 15 minutes after you shut down the stove. If not, you can fill a room or house with smoke that should be going out the chimney. No TRIP•LITE, say hello to your smoke detectors, possible smoke damage and the local fire department!

Not only is it powerful enough to keep our computer running safely it provides clean regulated power. It was a breeze to operate and install, basically just plug in your stuff.

Situated in an area where frequent natural lightning, local browning or plain lack of electricity at the most unexpected time forced me to invested in those extra units. Where I'm using this unit for, this is the third unit I'm installing in 7 years. I had other brands before this Tripp Lite. They died too early to my taste. I've been using Tripp Lite units in the four years at other stations and they survive better the frequent outage in my area. Today I opted again for this specific unit to keep my office networking devices on when we expect them to be on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forget the monitoring! Not compatible with windows 8.1 & 10. Sometime the os detect the battery. Most of the time nothing detected. I have tried different usb port and cable. I tried with 2 other computer same problem. The battery itself is really good but if a power drop occur the computer will not shutdown because of a software driver problem... I'm not the only one with that problem. Be aware if you buy it.

Fits perfectly inside our custom cabinet for Firewall and Router. The unit has been working perfectly. No problems, no failures and so far I am very happy. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been using for almost a month - so let's see I used this product as a back up UPS - Cable modem, router , second display and laptop. I had a power outage a few days back where my laptop/display were not on - I woke up with the power outage and the first thing I did was to look at the UPS - it had 96 minutes left - I could not tell for how long the outage was going on. When the power came back, I saw the unit going back to its normal state and the battery was charging .I like the product so far - What I do not like is a smell that releases. I have to keep my windows open - Let me know what that is please

I use this to provide backup power to my home theater set up, which consist of a home-built computer, a 4TB WD External Drive and a 49" LG TV. We regularly have Zoom meetings using this setup. So having a momentary power outage would be a problem. I also have UPS devices for my router & modem, so the connection stays solid regardless of the electric supply status. I tested the unit by pulling the plug, and everything kept on humming along. When I plugged it back in, the computer automatically started to shut down. Configuring the Tripp-lite software is not entirely intuitive, and I clearly have some adjustments to make. I am greatly relieved the unit alarm can be set to silent!

Wish I could turn off the display, the battery is in my bedroom and I have to manually cover the bright blue screen at night.

After looking at different brands and reviews as well as my personal experience I decided to go with Tripp Lite for a new UPS. I live in an area where we have some pretty severe storms in the summer, so I am in need of a good UPS with voltage regulation. So far it has been working flawlessly. I like its display and the information that is available on it and that it is quiet.

However, it does not work well with amateur radio applications especially at 7 MHz and below. I tried to filter the attach the cables using 2.4 Inch #31 ferrite toroids with little or no effect. The battery charging circuit radiates RF noise from within the unit. I contacted support and we determined that it was indeed the battery charging circuit, however the battery charging circuit is always on when there is commercial AC power input. Support did not want to assist in mitigating the noise other than suggesting that I move the unit further away from my antenna. So, when I operate on 80 M and 40 m I will pull the AC plug out so it goes into Power output mode and is much quieter that way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says. Handles as it should. Nice little unit. This is for a powerful, yet dated, computer build. So much so that the unit that was replaced by this one (from a competitor) would give an alarm if the computer system was under a significant load. What I really like about this model is the readout on the front. Once one knows how, one can make the front readout give all kinds of useful information. Under full load, my computer system pulls ~550 watts. This unit handled it, no problem. One caveat, the plugs are very tightly compacted. As such, if one were to plug in a wall wart style plug, it may take more than one plugs worth of room. Thus blocking other outlets. Easily overcome by looking within your favorite e-retailer for "short extensions". Anything approximately 1 foot should do. Nature of the beast for such a small unit. On that subject, the footprint of this unit is very manageable. imagine a 2 slice toaster's width and height, and 2 toaster lengths. The unit didn't have too much time to settle in before its first test. As I was putting the unit through its paces, as it were, my wife came into the room to see if I had noticed the 10 second brownout that had just happened. As I had recently put the unit on silent, no I did not. Under full load, my monitor didn't even dim which, after some time in service on the competitor's model, it had. I've not had the unit long, but it seems to be working just fine. Time will tell. As such, time is on my side with the extensive insurance policy.

I like how compact it is as well as the network capability. The user interface through USB was not very user friendly to use, but I did figure it out. Overall I would buy another one to use on my entertainment center

Unfortunately, if you connect the USB to a MAC computer, the backup unit immediately sends a power fail flag even if the unit has no power connection between the two

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought four over past six years and would buy again. I have purchased four Tripp Lite Smart1500LCDT UPS during the past six years. All are still in service. I find Tripp Lite more dependable, longer lasting and more economical. The Smart1500LCDT UPS does have issues. It has a terrible odor that lasts about three days after unboxing a new unit. If replacement batteries are very low (maybe < 5%) in charge, it will not charge the batteries. I use another brand UPS to initially charge such rare very-low charge batteries. I do not use Tripp Lite's PowerAlert software. Instead, I use the native server OS to communicate, shut down and power up as needed. Nothing is really wrong with PowerAlert, it's just unneeded. It's more important to me to have less consumption of server resources. The Tripp Lite LCD lies (as I find other brands do also). It will report 0 watts usage until you get a load of about 60 watts on the UPS. Then, it typically reports 10% to 60% more watts than my Mastech clamp meter reports. Don't depend upon the LCD for battery condition. I've never seen any LCD indication on a running Smart1500LCDT UPS that lets you know when the batteries can't handle a brown-out.

The unit was easy to install, and my Netgear ReadyNAS immediately recognized it and can monitor performance with no additional configuration.

Not anymore, the day we had a city power outage I had to switch to an emergency generator. All UPS's went into alarm except my Tripp-Lite. The problem was all the other UPS's would not accept the unstable frequency (hertz) from my generator which was not an old generator. I put a frequency meter on the output of the Tripp-Lite and found it to be steady and on frequency and voltage. Al M. in Riverside,Ca.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with Network UPS Tools (NUT) for Linux + Ten outlets, five on the battery side with extra room on two for wall-wart plug packs. - There is a NUT driver for a similar (older) product, but this newer serial does not work with the USB drivers for the NUT Linux software unfortunately. - The physical meter for watts consumed does not work when the unit is on AC power. When on AC, the Watts display shows 0.0w, and only runs as expected when you switch to battery backup. This is limiting because it would be nice to know how much energy your devices use normally so you can plan how long your battery life will be. I use a Kill-A-Watt to measure my watt load instead. + Price for a 900W UPS is very reasonable. Got mine off the egg, I think for windows users it would be more cost-effective since there is Tripp-Lite software available. Same software is for Fedora or OpenSUSE users, I haven't tried yet on my Fedora machine, maybe I can do a work-around to have it talk to my OpenMediaVault machine.

We have intermittent interruptions of power and this will alleviate that problem. It should keep the computer up and running for about 20 minutes and if there is a longer interruption, the software will gracefully shutdown the computer. Fast and efficient delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with BIOS start after power failure YMMV Put this on a customer's DVR which is a Windows PC. Was able to set the UPS to shutdown the DVR OS at a certain remaining power level on UPS battery, and then to shut UPS off. Tested by unplugging UPS from wall socket. When UPS is plugged back in, it comes back on and socket on UPS is online, having BIOS DVR/PC set to come on after power restored from power failure has DVR computer power back on. Even if you shut down the OS on Windows DVR programmatically, the DVR BIOS can tell when the power to DVR's power supply is cycled. In other words I can confirm setting DVR/PC BIOS to come back on still allows you to shut down from PC from the OS. It will stay off until the power to the power supply is cycled (or start button pressed). This is important in my case because the customer's PC has a locked case with the start button inside the locked case door. This was tested with a Windows 10 PC (ASUS MB), and the DVR which is a Windows 8 PC (Gigabyte MB) YMMV.

UPS charged in a few hours, windows monitoring software installed fast and provided good data on power draw, battery charge, and running power time. UPS tested fine and I'll have close to 35 minutes of runtime from battery power. All this with a 3 year warranty. Happy with my purchase and UPS options prior to purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hardware OK at best I purchased 5 of these for my company. One came out of the box with the casing not properly installed. Tripp-Lite's Power Alert Software is a joke. It looks like something written in the 1970s. Out of 5 computers in works on one and not on the other four. Product service is useless. The power button is very poorly designed. It protrudes from the case and is right where your hand would normally go if you wanted to pick it up. Also if ANYTHING brushes against it, (foot, leg, vacuum, it turns the power off to the computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for me. I'm using this to back up my network hardware: DSL modem, switches, wifi router, etc. It works great and gives me plenty of run time. I had a power outage the day I plugged it in and set it up. It ran for an hour and a half or so before exhausted (about what I would have guessed for the load). and then shut down (the outtage was more than 24 hours). When the power came back on it came up on its own and everything started back up and the batteries were charged up quickly. I really like the display as it is helpful to see the loading and predicted run time. I'm very happy with it.

I continue to recommend Tripp-Lite as a Realtor. I sell homes to medium to high end clients and they all have expensive equipent that needs protecting. I use the 1300VA to protect my in-home server, NAS, router and cable modem. I cannnot afford problems with my Internet service since it supplies all my data and voice services. I highly recommend this product and all Tripp-Lite equipment. Great products!

We are prone to power loss in the winter and this gives me plenty of time to safely continue a download and then shut down the system with no loss of data. Happened just this last weekend during a rain storm. No problems. Worth every penny to me.

When it came time to replace the battery, I decided to upgrade and get a UPS that shows input / output voltage (in addition to other readings) as a replacement. Neither...the UPS marked battery replacement needed, and when I got the new batteries (exactly the same type and brand from the one it came with) the Ups didnt started no more. Wrote to the technical support, and still waiting the response. I have to buy another Ups, but its gonna be the right brand, not this thing again. Too bad it baned my original message with all the words I really want to say.

I use my UPS for ALL of my radio gear and it is excellent. During normal power it maintains an even voltage and filtered, and in times when under emergency power keeps my gear running long enough for me to switch over to generator power. Plenty of both back up and filtered outlets. The LED panel provides ample of information, and the computer interface is very good. The only drawback is there is not way of adding additional batteries for extended time frame.

I live in a rural area in a metal building (Barndominium) and get zero cell signal with no power. We had a tornado come through a couple days ago and the power was out for a few hours. My family and I were able to continue to monitor the weather and make phone calls.

Additional items that I like include the LCD display, providing a snap shot of information such as output wattage and ability to change out batteries when they die rather than throw entire system away. The only thing that is a bit irritating is a smell, such as hot components. The unit is warm to the touch, so not sure of issue. I keep a can of air freshener near me and that seems to clear the air for a while. I deducted one star for the smell.

Recently bought the SmartPro UPS (to replace another brand) and am very disappointed that the Power Alert software does not work with my current KVm (not a Tripp-lite brand) and the help desk seemed to write it off as 'hardware incompatibility'. So, I bought a newTripp-Lite KVM (B004-VUA2-K-R) and it does not work either. Same symptoms as before. Currently, I am challenging the help desk to get the two Tripp-Lite products to work together!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power To The People I use this UPS and its PowerAlert software to backup the home computer operation. It couldn't be easier to set up. The manual is well written and the tech support is timely; both a plus. Being a new installation I have had no occasion to see the UPS perform under power loss conditions other than what I could do manually to test the system. There have been a few glitches in the power line with no noticeable affects at the output. I chose the system to deliberately be more than what I need, i.e., 900 watt source to power a nominal 140 watt computer system. Doing this gives approximately 45 minutes of operation during a power outage instead of the normal 3-4 minutes at full power usage. The management software is easy enough to use, and written in Java. It might be improved if something like an HTML 5 webpage were used instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I have purchased many Tripp Lite products in the past and they have always been very high quality and to date not a single one has failed or broken. The same can be said for this UPS. it is extremely well built, super easy to setup and while large isn't too bad (and to be expected as I got a larger battery capacity model). I didn't bother installing their software and I prefer to just have Windows Power Management handle it. All this though I had to take 1 star off as I have found a big over site in the product, that very well might not be an issue for you. The LCD's backlight cannot be turned off. I contacted Tripplite's support to see if there was a way and they said that there was not. I have mine in a bedroom so at night it is REALLY bright and it's blue light so for me disturbs my sleep. I've resolved it by covering it with a piece of paper, but really this should have been an obvious feature that should have been there as it not only is annoying and bright, but also is a waste of power to be on all the time. The unit is solid and I have zero doubt though that it will last and be reliable for years to come based off my experience with their other products.

I've used Tripp Lite products in the past, and I've always been impressed their quality. Setup was easy, although I thought that it didn't work at first because the LCD was lit up, but there was no power; I soon discovered that I had to turn it on! I like the fact that I can replace the batteries and liked the fact they were partially charged out-of-the-box. It has a USB connection to my computer, which Windows 10 automatically recognized when I plugged it in. I'm running the "local" version of the software, but I found I had to reboot the computer before the software would recognize the UPS. It's unclear whether it performs an auto shutdown when the power fails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too Soon For Me to Tell If This Product is Reliable I purchased this UPS from Tripp-Lite to replace an old Aye Pee Sea Smart UPS 650 V/S unit that was trashing its battery - basically overcharging it. The battery would last a little over two years and then it would be dead. In fact, I had to bend and distort the metal framework around the battery compartment to get the battery out, as it was swollen so much that there was no other way to get it out! Now, the load that it was supporting is small, only an iMac. So the SmartPro LCD 1500 VA replacement is a bit of overkill. In fact, I thought the unit was faulty because it displayed a load of 0.0% and 0.0 Watts! After plugging in a 60 Watt lamp, it now shows 11% and 99 Watts. The only downside that I find with this unit is its smell. Even when I first opened the box, I could smell an off-gassing, kind of sulfurous, "electronic" smell. I suspect it comes from some kind of RTV component glue in its electronics. I powered the unit up anyway, tested it, and it seems to work - it gives me 77 minutes of battery support time. But the smell, although diminished, is still being emitted after almost two weeks running. I did want to use Power Alert Local Software to initiate an auto shutdown of my iMac, and this was the other reason I bought a Tripp-Lite, and not another brand (I could not find any other that had iOS-compatible software). Notwithstanding, Tripp-Lite's info doesn't specifically say it will work with an iOS-based system; although, it does say it is compatible with a Linix-based system (on which iOS is built). But the installation is complicated, and not for a novice to attempt. Time will tell if the UPS treats its batteries with respect, and they last for more than a couple of years.

I ran into some trouble in the past with monitoring the load and battery life on backup devices, and with this model it's very easy to notice these details. The only downside for me is that the fan can be a bit noisy, especially at night.

Often all three printers are running at the same time and all are plugged into our Tripp-Lite Model 1500LCDT unit. We have had a number of storms recently in Florida and power surges and outages have occurred in the past week. Every time this happened the Tripp-Lite performed flawlessly and kept our expensive 3D Printers from being fried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again I actually bought this several years ago because of frequent brown outs in our area at the time. I only use 5 of the outlets and have had no real issues with it. I recently moved where it is at and went to plug something else in and found that the other 5 outlets (on the battery backup side) were not working. I was not sure if there was a problem so I contacted tech support. After a couple emails back and forth I found out it was as simple as pressing the one button on it. Since I have not used that side I never realized I had not put it online. In the end this unit still works great and all my devices have worked fine since I started using it.

The peace of mind that this is provided me is priceless. it is spectacular I am relaxed now I don't have to worry about what if the power goes out today I'm at ease. I recommend this product for anybody with electrical sensitive equipment that they do not want to lose forever due to power outages or power surges period well worth the money spent.

We have two power recliners protected and it saved my wife from getting stranded during a storm one time. Very good units. Replace the battery about every three years. I use them for my security system also.$

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, no problems. I like it. The only problem I had was the computer didn't properly recognize it when I plugged in the USB cord. I searched Tripp-Lite's site for drivers and couldn't find any. It turned out that they weren't needed, but it would have been nice to know that. There's almost no information about installing the product. It showed up in Device Manager but showed a problem as if it needed a driver. I wound up unplugging the USB cable and plugging it in again and the problem went away, so I'm guessing it was just a bad connection. However, a little more install instructions from Tripp-Lite would have solved the headache. It would have been nice to know that a driver wasn't needed. I would then have looked elsewhere for the problem.

Based on the outward appearance i wondered if it was an older model, but the rep at CDW assured me it was a current one. Will updated if there are any issues, but so far a great deal for a smart ups of this size.

I believe that all Tripp Lite units should also have a USB port to charge cell phones and other devices using utilizing the battery as well as the standard plugs. 4 stars as they are not tested in a real nasty situation. Hopefully never.

One I use with several devices on the battery backup. * a rather hefty desktop computer * two screens * a printer * a nine watt LED lamp (in case of power failure at night) I loaded up a game that uses quite a lot of computer horsepower. The front panel LCD display on the UPS showed about 200W. I then unplugged it from the wall outlet. The UPS switched to battery backup without a glitch. The LCD display showed 30 minutes run-time -- plenty of time to finish up what ever and shut down. The second UPS is used for my network with two devices on the battery backup. * a cable modem * a wireless router With these devices, the LCD display shows no load. With the UPS unplugged, the LCD display shows 180 minutes of run-time. The only down-side, and the reason that it got 4 stars instead of 5, is the noise of the fan when it goes on battery backup.

Having recently gotten a lot of smart home devices, these outages would force a reset of all the lights, sensors, hubs, etc. Now? Not a worry.

Add in an LCD monitor, LCD TV, and a cable box, and I'm still not above a 35% load. I've had a few outages and and several short outages, and the UPS has protected everything very well.

The quality still seems to be in their build and so far no problems. This on is for my business running critical electronics, so it needs to work all the time, every time. The Mac was not aware that we lost power so no files or work suffered any harm. Further, I could read the display to know how much time I had left before I would have to shut down. Great machine at a very good price.

You can also download user interface software and hook up to a computer for additional management options. I chose not to do it because it just seemed redundant to the UPS hardware screen itself.

Power outage was detected by our security system and lasted for three hours. Internet functionality never stalled and accessing the security camera online was as normal. Very please with the purchase. The only caveat I have is that I have not had this unit for very long, so durability has not been proven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would highly recommend this product to anyone. This unit protects my desktop computer and printer. I experience one instance that it did just that. Instead of my computer and printer being zapped by what appeared to be an electric spike, the Tripp Lite tripped the room circuit breaker rather than damaging my PC and printer. Since the computer and printer stayed on I didn't lose any data nor have any damage done to them. The only negative would be that it's not easily moved because of the weight and does take up more room than a smaller less powerful unit. A small price to pay for a good product.

This is my second Tripp Lite UPS and I am still using the first one which is almost a year old. I like having my computer, monitor, gateway and other items secure if the power goes out. So far, the outages have been of short duration and I can't comment on how long the battery lasts. But I like being able to have time to shut down as much equipment as possible when it does happen.

Having said that, in the short time I have had this it has been great! I live in an area with frequent power outages and this little thing rocks, keeps my home office kicking.

One for the office phone with computer, one for a night time breathing C-pack, one for the Direct TV receiver with TV and one for the tankless water heater. Being able to view the line voltage is nice, to easily run the system muted is essential and they work flawlessly to include filling in during the brownouts seamlessly. They are problem free and reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great UPS everything I need and more This is a great UPS, with more than enough power to keep a desktop, laptop, cable modem, laser printer and even my tv & cable box up and running and I'm still only at about 50% load. Also the digital readout on the front of the unit makes it very easy to see the load on the UPS and you can clearly see how dirty your power is with the readout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price My GFCI outlet in the basement flux a lot during storms and I decided to purchase the UPS to ensure my alarm panel garage openers, and Solar monitoring devices stay active during burnouts, flux and power outages. As soon as I installed the UPS we had a power flux and couple of days later and the UPS proved to do what it do! I'm happy I made the purchase and will be purchasing another one to put my extra refrigerator and freezer on in the basement.

Supplied wires could be longer to accommodate placement. On a rack or on the floor, distance to power and to equipment matters. I give it top ratings nonetheless. Then again, I am yet to suffer my first lengthy power failure.

There was a faint odor that is normal for new electric devices such as this one. It has dissipated and was never a real issue even in a small office area. We have yet to have a power outage to confirm the effectiveness of the unit. We have run a few tests and all seems well.

We are located in Water and Waste Water treatment plants. All the industrial sized electrical equipment like 100+ horsepower motors turning off and on, gives us dirty power. I like the capacity of these units. The LCD display gives instant feedback as to what is going on. Also the units were a breeze to set up and use. Batteries were fully charged out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what the doctor ordered. As a disabled combat veteran I am a shut-in, as such my electronics see much more use than the average user, especially my gaming computer. As my area also experiences rolling blackouts when the energy company needs to compensate for a large hospital complex within a mile of my house I fear for the longevity of my electronics. I am able to run them all through this UPS and when hit with blackouts, the UPS did exactly what it should, it gave me time to shutdown my equipment properly, and run emergency equipment for a short amount of time off the batteries. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value for Price Researched a great many UPS products and found this Tripp Lite UPS to be a great value for the price. - 1500VA more than enough for my high end gaming PC and all its peripherals (monitor, external hard drive, modem, speakers, external card reader, etc.). - Line-Interactive ensures safety of my equipment from power surges or brownouts. - LCD display is clear and provides good information. I especially like the current load output percentage monitor. - Price is excellent for an UPS with this many features and capacity.

I found this unit which is is perfect to replace both of my old APC units for a very reasonable price. I installed it and it has a great run time for my equipment. I will likely be able to ride out the next time there is a power outage without even having to shut down. I love the LCD readout that give me lots of info at a glance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I feel secure with this UPS protecting my equipment As I am sitting here in my rural home the wind is blowing and the rain is driving sideways. Minutes ago while doing my daily business the power went out for a minute. No problem with the Tripp-lite battery backup on duty. I was able to complete my work with not so much as a hiccup. If you don't have your equipment protected you should. That small power failure could have been enough to take out my hard drive and leave me high and dry with months of work lost. Not to mention family pictures and other valuable data.

The test pushbutton provides piece of mind. I did not install the watchdog software because I am a little skeptical of conflicts between the auto-save function and other programs or setting. The watchdog software should also include a scheduled auto-self-test for the UPS.

This unit is the best I've seen. I like the fact that I can see how much of a load it has and how I don't lose any data due to power outages. I highly recommend this product.

This unit protected my high end computer system from a lightning strike that took out several things in our home. What more could I ask of this product. It is still functioning flawlessly. Well after installing it in August 2014 so far I have had no problems. The unit has a 3 year warranty hope I don't have to use it any time. It looks good and is working fine. Installation was quick and easy, and it sits quietly next to my computer doing its thing. In the event of a power outage I can wrap up a project and send it by email before having to shut down. And I love the LCD screen so I can monitor performance in real-time. Great product!

The display is bright, clean and easy to read at a distance. Also, the UPS has a relatively small footprint, considering that it's capable of powering two monitors, a desktop PC and some smaller desktop appliances for long enough to ride out most outages.

Replaced the battery and think I was sold old batteries as they did not last a year. The original batteries lasted several years. Like the voltage regulation feature and long 900W battery.

I liked the 1st one I bought for my gaming rig, I decided to buy the exact same one to replace an old failing UPS I had my wife's computer on. The only thing i don't like about it is Tripp Lite no longer sends out monitoring software with them. I liked being able to monitor and test my UPS from my PC. Yes, this unit has the LED display on it but it sits on the floor, behind some furniture and I am old and don't want to crawl down on the floor, move the furniture to check it's health.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and probably will I am using this UPS to back up and protect my main desktop and the cable modem and wireless router, the latter two being frequent failure points here in the desert. I received this product for Christmas. It was in service the next day. The ONLY problem I noticed was that the manual was apparently written for an area with 220 VAC service. This was disconcerting but close examination of the box showed it was indeed North American standard. This cost you a star Tripp-Lite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid product, works great Work from home; using this as the UPS for my desktop and two monitors, while another UPS powers my router, modem and landline. Had it since 2017, changed the batteries twice, never a problem. With the computer and one monitor tied in, I can nurse the battery to 90-120 minutes when the power goes out -- 60 minutes with the desktop and both monitors. Downside is the Poweralert software doesn't always show the UPS as active and cuts out on occasion for no reason.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have alway been happy with tripp lite equipment I currently have 6 of these units and use them in my office to back up my photo hard storage and to protect my computer, scanner and printer equipment. My only concern with the latest purchase of 5 units , all of them when I opened the boxes had the tell tale odor of overheated electronic components. My being an electronic tech thet odor gets your attention quit rapidly. All of the units are working properly so I am guessing the odor is just a byproduct of manufacturing. Overall your product is great and in the years I have needed UPS back ups these are the best. All of the other brands I have tried have failed prematurely, suffered massive failure and some have even caught fire during power surges and then would not stand behind their product. The only product improvement I would recommend is a remote display/controls or a tilting control panel so you don't have to get down on all fours to see the display and operate the controls

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked flawlessly with first outage I am currently using this UPS to back up my gateway, router and VOIP box. Within two weeks of installation, I had an electric outage and it performed flawlessly. I love that it has 8 outlets (4 UPS protected). All outlets are too close together to support power transformer plugs so one must purchase short extension cords if you needed to plug in one of them. That is a minor inconvenience as the box must be bigger to spread outlets apart or fewer can be provided.

This is a great product for handling five out of nine possible power problems; no power, sags, surges, line noise and brownouts. It's a very wise investment to protect your power sensitive home or office equipment. Batteries for me have lasted 4 to 4 1/2 years. They are easily replaceable. I found customer support to be very patient and helpful.

The combination of both have resulted excellent as have not lost either of services when grid power is lost. The oldest is about 1 year old and the recent is 2 months old.

I has never failed and always worked as expected. I also like that with the USB port you can monitor its status with the Home/Office/Medical Software. Very handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value The price was right. Item arrived in a fraction of the estimated time. Installation was simple and easy. Product registration was easy. The unit reports that there will be plenty of available runtime to safely shut down in case of a power failure. I haven't given it 5 stars because I just installed it so I haven't witnessed its performance and it doesn't come with Apple Mac compatible software. Although I'm probably better off sticking with the power management software included with the Mac OS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I own a number of these; my office, audio equipm. & dev lab For over 20 years, I've had 3 Tripp Lite stand alone UPS's protecting my 3 office workstations, 1 protecting home stereo equipment and 2 Tripp Lite's protecting my dev lab equipment. As an electrical engineering consultant, I've recommended/installed various models for my clients. Everyone has been happy. Some UPS vendors overcharge their batteries for more impressive 'specs' but end up shortened battery life & failing when you need your UPS most. I've been thru/seen it all; never been disappointed with Tripp Lite's. Three (3) of my "OMNI" & "SMART" series are online for 5+ years-- with same set of batteries!--and all testing good! How do they do it ??!?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have bought a lot of surge UPS, now I only buy Tripplite The Tripplite's last me longer in my hot/cold environment (with 1 or 2 battery changes) while other off brands are 1/3 of the time and the big name brand is 1/2 of the Tripplite life. I also find Tripplite quotes and lives up to a much faster response time. Other UPS brands leave my computers rebooting after a power loss. The whole reason I have UPS is to prevent computer shut downs/reboots, so no wonder I buy Tripplite.

Both have been thru lightning and power outages what definitely paid them off. I had an issue with one of the units and called technical support and they resolved the problem on the spot! I am quite happy and will buy again tripp lites when time comes for a replacement.

My new SmartPro hardly flinches, even though I have the PC, monitor, external drives and printer connected to it. I love having the LED for a quick look but also the detail software for a closer look at what is going on with the power in my home. it was definitely worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended. I would buy this product again. Great product. Came with full battery charge. Able to support my desktop computer with almost 60 minutes power outage. Software install was simple though I needed support line to walk me through configuration of my settings. Very quiet and you can hardly hear it working. I am very pleased with the software interface. I would purchase this product again. Highly recommended. One thing I am not yet certain about is whether UPS will power back up on its own if power is restored. Time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine for my needs I have two computers connected to the UPS to keep them from going down when we have short power outages. So far, It has worked fine. The load is about 600 watts and all I want is to keep them up long enough for me to shut them down gracefully. I could not get the automatic shutdown system working on my windows 10 PC and it is not supported on my MAC.

I also liked the test button and that it tells you when to replace the battery backup. No more guessing when it is time to get a new one. I would recommend they continue to purchase these.
