The Samsung SSD 840 EVO line-up makes use of the industry's most compact 10-nanometer class high-performance NAND flash memory, which Samsung began mass producing in April. With these chips and Samsung's proprietary multi-core controller, the Samsung SSD 840 EVO achieves unrivaled value for performance with improved sequential read and write speeds.

Samsung has released the entry-level SSD '840 EVO' line-up with significantly higher sequential write performance. Awesome upgrade!!! I thought my computer was fast before the SSD upgrade and now I cannot believe how much faster it is. Boot times are almost instantaneous... Program and file access times are non-existent. Very happy with purchase and will soon be buying another for my wife's computer. March 27, 2014
A great device for my home use. It's fast, it's cheap.Had a Intel SSD before, and can realy feel the difference! March 20, 2014
The EVO is a great SSD choice. It's not as robust as others but for the price, you can't go wrong. March 14, 2014
Works Great Best upgrade I ever did for my computerthe drive was the lowest rating on windows. Now at 7.7This is great March 12, 2014
Just bought one for my personal laptop (brand new). My original plan was to burn recovery medias (DVDs) from the the new laptop, replace the original hard drive with the Samsung and then start from scratch.Surprise surprise, there is no "recovery media creation" utility with Windows 8! How disappointing...So I started to look for a free software to clone my hard drive, but it was getting very annoying (many software do not have the "clone" option in the trial version, and I didn't want to spend money just for a 1-time copy).I was about to give up for the day, then I had a look inside the box of the SSD drive. In addition to the Sata-to-USB connector, there was also a CD which I promptly ignored when I had opened the box.Long story short, Samsung provided me a very useful software (for free!) to copy what was on my "old" HDD to the new SSD. Just a couple of clicks and it copied only the information it needed (including the MBR), ignoring (just as I wanted) all the empty partitions and other useless stuff). My previous SSD was a Corsair, a good one, but from now on I think I'll go with Samsung! Fast SSD Excellent quality and very fast. Easy to install and can use in Desktops and Laptops. February 24, 2014
Excellent SSD and the only brand I use Excellent, Reliable, and easy to use and configure. I have installed one EVO SSD and three 840 series drives and they are reliable and fast transfer rates are unbelievable. Excellent drive for the money but is a bit pricey compared to others. I hope they never sacrifice quality to make it cheaper, I don't mind paying for the SSD's Samsung makes because of the top quality of the product. With all that said I will buy this drive again and again to retrofit or upgrade many computers. February 20, 2014
The EVO is a great consumer drive, but it isn't as robust as the Pro series drives. I'd personally not use this in enterprise. February 12, 2014
