Microsoft Windows Server 2012 - license 4.3 5 192 192
Server 2012 is great. Solid OS, very quick - works well. It gets a bit confusing in terms of the RDS setup and deployment - because that is changed drastically. A bit of a learning curve, but otherwise working great. June 18, 2015
A great pdate to its previous version. Microsoft has started to think and develop as per user demands and security. June 16, 2015
Its a fairly robust and fast OS, I think the R2 version is a massive improvement but other than that its a solid and fast server OS. June 9, 2015
Although the interface change has been and continues to be a bit of a drag (Windows 7 nailed the user interface IMHO), I upgraded our Domain Controllers from 2003 to 2012 R2, and while it was a big project, everything worked out fine. Since then, they've been running like champs. I still have yet to dig deep into the many enhancements, but the AD recycle bin alone is worth it. May 25, 2015
A disclaimer: I kind of liked the Windows 8/8.1 start screen so I could handle seeing it integrated into Server 2012. More seasoned veterans that didn't delve into Windows 8/8.1 may have a bit of a learning curve in navigating the menus to get to more familiar territory, but I for one am very excited in seeing PowerShell take a more center role in the system. We've got some servers on 2012 R2. Nice GUI and some added features. There is some functionality differences between 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 as expected. May 21, 2015
Fair operating system with a number of quirks. The good? typical MS bases covered, ADDS ADSI and more forest and corporate level managment. all good. The downs? The metro desktop has no business on a server. it creates layers of unneeded confusion without adding any complexity. The expected understanding of Powershell to run the system. not bad. just not a realistic expectation right out of the box with no training (because we all know about the MS knowledge base...)Overall it gets the job done. And multiple server management from a single server console is nice. May 21, 2015
A great improvement in automation and functionalities compared to the old versions. There are still some issues with DCs and other functionalities, but overall a very good product. May 19, 2015
