Microsoft Windows Server 2012 - license 4.4 5 116 116
Server 2012 is an excellet leap from its predecessor, 2008/R2People often compare Server 2012/R2 with Win8, because of its GUI, which is a bit odd considering there is no real comparison between Win7 and Server 2008R2In Server 2012/R2, all the old useful features remain, but with far simpler remote management. Microsoft has shown the push from local management to remote management, and Server 2012/R2 shows its true power here with its Server manager, as well as collection of all RSAT's.My only down point is that all the new simplicity in Role Administration tends to be aimed at clients running Windows 8. Thats not to say all roles are affected this way.. but newer role improvements such as directaccess and Work Folders only show their full potential with the new desktop OS's.All in all... Server 2012+ is a world apart from 2008R2. Best Practices encourage remote administration of server core when available, so the popular argument against it's gui is generally rendered irrelevant!. I have been quite impressed from this platform. Has been a great product so far, and it seems to be a great platform to become the new work horse. May 16, 2014
It is unbelievable how many new features has been improve with this Windows Server version.Right now I'm testing the new web remote desktop which is amazing considering is integrated for free in server 2012. May 9, 2014
We have WS2012 for our Primary Server, I must admit although it comes with the nasty Metro interface for the start menu, I do really like the robustness and ease at which configurations can be completed. May 7, 2014
Love the Metro on server 2012, improves the feel of server systems. Would like to update most of our servers to this. April 30, 2014
I love Server 2012 due to the availability that it has. The way that you can install features and roles onto multiple Hyper-V servers at once is phenomenal. The operating system itself is solid and fast which is a huge plus in the enterprise world. April 24, 2014
This is as user friendly as it gets. Very stable. Once it's going there is no comparing it to an older version. April 7, 2014
Coming from Server 2003 this is so much better. I know servers are the place for a reboot test but comparing a 2012 VM and a 2003 VM I can literally reboot it twice in the space of the 2003 reboot process.Once you are up and running it is better in every conceivable area. Solid and efficient helps the admin with so many little helpful additions. April 7, 2014
