After sitting idle on my predecessors desk for a year before I got here, I finally got to put it through its paces. As a virtual host (ESXi), I have been pleased with its performance. I have had no issues with the server since powering it on 16 months ago. It's only been restarted twice - once to move it to a different site and once because of a power-failure at the colocation facility. While that may be a testament to vmware as well. I have no complaints at all about the device. The next generation M4 (maybe M5 if they're out in time) is the leading contender as it's successor for my next round of server acquisitions next year based upon the reliability of this model. Great until we needed an upgrade and found they'd changed the motherboard so ours didn't support X54xx series July 25, 2012
My all-time favorite server. Has been a true workhorse! March 30, 2012
Fair hardware. Getting accurate direction for parts or upgrades is almost impossible. Tech support is liable to require many phone calls and redirections. The critical system id does not always match the actual configuration. Hardrive seem to die more often than I would expect. Fortunately nothing else much does. November 9, 2011
I have been running 5 of these since 2009 with no issues. August 16, 2011
