HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 - Xeon E5-2609 2.4 GHz - Monitor : none. 4.7 5 123 123
I purchased this for a Small/Medium business to use as a domain controller running SBS 2011 thus far it has ran exceptionally well. We replaced an old IBM tower server - I have estimated this server to pay for itself within 18-24 months based on the energy savings it has provided us with. April 23, 2013
Bought 3 for a VMware farm, I have not had any issues with these servers the build quality is vary good, ILO is a excellent option for remote management. Powerful, reliable, easy to manage. April 8, 2013
I have two with dual E5-2650 and 128GB. They are both being used for vmware and they are great. The boot time is long because of the new BIOS, but that has not been an issue for me as I have only had to reboot them twice since I put them into production and both times was scheduled. Very fast machines. April 4, 2013
Great tried and true model server. I have nothing but good things to say about the HP line of servers. December 12, 2012
Excellent DL360 G8! Having all the Smart Start software embedded is a +We loaded ours with 24GB RAM, 3 15k SAS drives, did Raid 5; nice and fast! This server comes with 4 NIC's.Our previous Proliant DL360 G5 was getting a little too old for a Domain Controller, so we used the PlateSpin Migrate software to migrate the domain to this new beauty.Simply Perfect! (at least for now... lol) November 16, 2012

We purchased this machine as an ESXi host and it works great in that role. it supports huge amounts of ram and has been very reliable so far September 23, 2012
All new configuration. The SFF hard drives are unique, I can't mix them with any other HP SFF drives from previous models. New "Intelligent Provisioning" is like SmartStart built into firmware, which saves a lot of setup time - I don't have to scramble to find a DVD drive or create USB bootable media. A big minus are the new rack rails. They are also all-new, different and frustrating to use. You have to be much more careful installing the server into these new drop-in rails. I haven't had to remove one of these from the new rails yet, we'll see how that goes. Installing VMWare ESXi 4.1 or 5 requires downloading media from HP, not VMWare. Previous models worked with the generic ESXi install media directly from VMWare. As with all Proliant servers, boot times are even longer than each previous model. This is frustrating in a lab environment where change needs to happen rapidly. August 21, 2012
