So glad our office products rep recommended this product :-). He said that he himself has a little older version and it continues to work like a champ.

After researching the net, I read good review about the Powershred 73Ci with wheels. I am very happy that I made this selection and the shredder works fantastic. I love the feature of this being mobile and is easy to move. I highly recommend this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shredder! I have been using my co-worker's shredder down the hall. It too is a Fellowes Powershred 73Ci. I liked the features of the secure cut size, quiet operation and jam resistance. I asked my supervisor if I could order the exact same shredder for my office and he agreed. Got it today and it is the best shredder I have ever used in a small office. It is portable with rollers and it is fast. I couldn't be more pleased!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I received my Fellowes 73ci this morning and have been using it all day. I think I have to give myself a rest before I do this machine. It has been marvelous. I have shredded 2 good sized boxes of old taxes, legal paperwork, and an enormous amount of other things. I still have 5 boxes to go and know that it will stand up to the best. The only thing is that the container is a bit cumbersome for me to empty into a bag. I think I need those large leaf bags and it will be fine. The shredding apparatus is great and I have only been putting about 7 sheets in at a time. It seems to slow down if it is more than that. But overall I am very satisfied with its operation. I really like the Non-jam feature. If it does jam either press the back button OR keep holding down the forward button and there wont be a problem. I would recommend this machine highly. Very quiet for a shredder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shredder I had a fellows shredder which lasted 11 years. It was a wonderful product. Therefore, when the gears finally broke, I knew I was going to purchase another Fellows Shredder. I have a lot of valuable documents to shred, so I wanted one that had a decent capacity,would last for more than just a brief time and that would shred the papers securely and still not cost a fortune. The Fellows 73Ci seemed like it would do all that. So far I have been very pleased with it, except that I wish it had a bit more capacity. Seems like I have to empty it more than I had to with my old one. Despite that, I am very glad with my purchase.

Based on the long life and performance of the previous Fellows I expect to have many years service from this one.

It eats more paper more quickly, is much quieter, and has great auto features the help prevent overheat (which lengthens its life) and jamming (which don't always completely work). One really nice feature is the "Bin full" stop -- this alone helps prevent future jamming immensely. However, the bin is too small, and it's just as messy as the Royal when emptying the bin -- doesn't look like anyone's found a solution to this. As with most shredders, it seems the sheet capacity is for some really light-weight paper, for it won't do 10 - 20# or 24# sheets.

The on/off is a blue symbol that is visible ONLY when ON. When turned off, it is no longer visible and the operator must guess where to push to turn it on. All information is invisible until something happens or goes wrong. An obscured display with an inadequate instruction booklet detract from the many good features. I hope that, with usage, the display/control aspect will become a nonissue

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not up to industrial standards I feel that this shredder works okay if you are only putting 5 sheets of paper into it. We shred a lot of paper and with the name worlds toughest shredders 'powershred', I would think it should shred more than 8 sheets at a time.

Got my husbands tie once, that was a sight! I knew then that if and when I needed a replacement that I was Going to purchase a Fellowes brand. I am thrilled with my new purchase and I would recommend this brand to all of my family and friends. They are well worth the money spent!

It has reverse, which we like, but we never need to use reverse because it automatically knows when there is too much paper being shredded: a red light will come on to let you know. Also, it is well made, and easy to use. I think that we will not need a new shredder for years to come.

Also knowing that it is sold by Costco also gives it creditability, as Costco doesn't just go with any brand and will stand behind the brands they carry. I have used it a nice bit since I had it and is loving it. So far it is everything the site says it is, the price is great and to get oil and a couple of bags with it - all the things to get you started for your shredding needs - AWESOME. I am also thinking of getting one for my home use and I would also recommend this product to others. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I MUST HAVE GOTTEN A LEMON After reading all the positive reviews on the 73CI model shredder and having an awesome Fellowes shredder in the past, I decided to replace my old model (drawer was broken during a move) with a new one. Unfortunately, my new 73CI model is very noisy and can't handle a fraction of the number of sheets of paper it should. I have to be very careful not to put more than a few sheets of paper in at a time. Because of my good experience with my last Fellowes shredder, I have come to the conclusion that I must have gotten a LEMON this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shredder I had a backlog of shredding to do. This machine shredded 4 years of info without any issues. It jammed twice but backed the paper out itself and then continued to shred. I absolutely love this machine and glad I purchased it.

It does not take 4 or 5 sheets of paper which my old one did and the bin has to be emptied more often. It is also quite slow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fellowes 73ci Cross-cut Shredder Purchase This shredder performs pretty well, is safe and easy to use and even prevents jams from happening, and can shred several loads of paper in an hour. The only drawback to it is the bag doesn't seem to attach well inside the pull-out bin so when the bin is full, the shredded paper at the top of the bag comes loose when you pull the bin out.

Everything from wheels and a pull out bin, to a flip over guide to insure the that cds and credit cards are inserted in to the correct area are included. I would highly recommend this shredder to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Different from My Last Shredder We had a Fellowes MS-450C shredder that finally gave up the ghost, and I replaced it with the Fellowes PowerShred 73Ci. The new shredder looks bigger and takes 12 sheets, instead of only 7 sheets, but it seems like a slower, clunkier shredder. Just got it today and started shredding. I got the Hot indicator well before 10 minutes. Turned out the bag may have been causing the Hot indicator to light. Not sure I like this shredder, but will report back. Also the shredding size is much bigger.

Several years ago (before I started working here a few years ago) 2 Fellowes shredders were purchased and have always worked awesome. The 2nd floor shredder which gets the most use and abuse recently couldn't continue (here forward referred to as Grampy) and has now been replaced by our new 73Ci (Joey). Love Fellowes shredders, Grandma's still kickin' on the first floor, hopefully Joey makes it as long as his elders. Our production manager is still missing Grampy, and thinks Joey's cute but that he dislikes our Key Grip Girl because he growls at her.

I also like the safety feature. Hope this lasts for a long time. Only reason I said "con" for quality construction is that the unit is heavy duty plastic. It seems durable enough but I really don't like all the plastic used in devices.

The only draw back it has is the same draw back all shredders have and that is when you have to shred a lot of paper at one time. The bin fills up too quickly and you have to stop and empty it multiple times. This can be messy and time consuming. Need to develop a shredder that can blow shredded material directly into a large plastic bag when there is a large quantity of material to be shredded.

Also I do not have to take off the heavy top to empty the Shredder, the pull out bucket is perfect. Very easy to clean. Also the safe guard is good. It is also much quieter than any other shredders I had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heafty duty, with a weight to match this shredder is great so far! my only caveat would be that it is HEAVY! luckily, the paper shred bin slides right out so you don't have to manoeuver too much but if it's slightly off, it's a beast to try to move around and realign. but it is smooth to shred and super quiet!

It is powerful, yet quiet and allows you to easily shred anything from paper to credit cards to CD/DVD's! I highly recommend this to anyone that needs not just a paper shredder but a CD/DVD shredder too. My only con is it would be nice if the product warranty was 5 years too like the cutter warranty. Overall, this is a great product at a great price!

This shredder shreds fast and is much quieter then the old one we had. I like all of the new features and the fact that it shuts down automatically when not in you. I think this was a good buy.

For a business running out of the household, I would definitely get the next model up--12-pager may not cut it. Self-Jam resistance is a nice plus. Disappointed I can't throw most of my unopened envelopes in without having to separate them into two-three shreds.

It will warn you when its full or you are putting too many sheets of paper in it prior to you shredding. I would recommend this shredder for a small business. You are getting a great product for the price you pay!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Home Shredder We purchased this shredder after our previous inexpensive home shredder was killed by a severe jam. We wanted something sturdier and a bit more jam-proof than our late lamented shredder. Although we haven't had a change to put the Fellowes shredder through a heavy-duty test yet, so far it's pleasantly quiet compared to the previous one, and it has that nice safety feature where the mechanism stops if the hands come near the slot. Beautiful design, and smooth operation. I attempted to run a five-page, two-staple glossy brochure through it, and it balked right away when folded in two. Fully extended so that it was just 5 pages, it balked and red-signalled midway through. By pressing the forced forward button, it finished shredding without a problem, but the fact remains that it balked and gave a jam warning with just five pages, when the rating is supposedly 12. Keep that in mind if you have a high volume of shredding to do.

Past experience was great..So I was on a mission to find a sale and along with that I found features I did not know existed. Like the pullout bin, shuts off when your fingers touch the top and shreds up to 12 pages at a time. These were all extra bonuses..

Crosscut shredding is done quickly without jamming in this machine. Quietly shreds multiple pages at a time and indicates when hopper is full. It is easy to assemble and has wheels so it can be moved easily. Easy to empty. I'm very happy with my purchase.

We had an older Fellowes shredder model and it stopped working on us. I decided to still stick with the Fellowes brand by ordering something similar, which is the Powershred 73Ci model. I love how beautifully designed it is and how quiet it is. All of the reviews I've seen on this model have been very good. I highly recommend this shredder to anyone with a small office or small business! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reasonable Performance For Price I was looking for a shredder that was reasonably quiet. This one is not as quiet as a dishwasher but more so than my previous shredder was. The safesense feature as well as the bucket size are great additions as well. It would be nice if they made really quiet shredders for home or small business use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS SHREDDER Only had this shredder for a few days in our office but it has done its job with big projects. It senses when your hand is in the way and when it is removed so you don't hurt yourself. Love the touch screen outer face. So far it has not jammed once and our other one jammed all the time. The bin is easy to remove and you don't have to lift the shedder off to remove it, it just slides easily out. So far it is great!

Being in our 60’s my wife and I needed a P4 secured document shredder that has the power to handle over 50 lbs. of old outdated documents (check books, bank statements and mortgage paperwork) that we and our parents had accrued over several decades. The Fellowes Powershred 73Ci has been a Champ at meeting and exceeding our expectations. The 73Ci has done a great job of “grinding up” our decades old mountain of documents. We have experienced NO overheating or jamming problems while we feed-in large amounts of our outdated paperwork. Bottom-line, this is a Great Shredder for any home or small business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The jury is still out. As of this time and with rather limited use, I can't say whether or not I am pleased with this shredder. It does shred what I have fed into it, but it also has a strange way of running. When I first turn it on and feed paper into it, it runs very slow. If I touch the safety bar around the feed slot, it will stop, as it is supposed to do, then run at high speed to finish shredding the paper. If I'm quick enough, I can feed the rest of the paper into it while it is running at high speed. I don't believe that this is how it.s supposed to work, therefore I'm holding off any excellent rating as I'm not sure it is going to keep working.

Great as a cross cut because I can bag it all and then in the spring dump it into the compost because it is tiny pieces might as well make this useful and help the environment.

This particular shredder is an affordable small business purchase and was easy to set up and use right away out of the box. We are very much looking forward to how it withstands time and usage. So far our first bag of shredded material has not caused any problems and we will certainly recommend this product to other individuals.

We put the wheels on last (which I don't recommend), but otherwise it's great! We have already shredded about 50 pounds of paper and it's performing well. Thanks!

I love this shredder and I paid a a lot of money for it. I can not return it.... what must I do? I bought a expensive shredder ... and this happens... I am not happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who design this? Right out of the box tried to put the wheels on this shredder is a joke. Placed the wheels on the bottom and guest what? The wheels pop right out cause there is no resistance to hold them in place. Haven't really used it. Tested on one sheet of paper. I Wished my older and taller shredder one didn't break down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely a Stellar Product We purchased a Fellows 73Ci in 2013. We used it a whole lot. When the old one bit the dust, there was no question as to which shredder to purchase. The only caveat about the new shredder is that only I can use the shredder so that it does not get overheated and burn out. It is a great shredder and it does such a thorough job. I'll probably never purchase another make of shredder as this is superior to any I have ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 73Ci Possible Retirement? Could it be that this model is close to retirement? When clicking on "Personal Shredders", this model is not included. Actually, you have to click on Powershred 12C, scroll down, and you see a list of shredders in the sub category. Another indication is that most current shredders do not shred CD/ DVDs. However, since I use Blu-ray discs for storage, I was pleased to find this unit still in circulation. The second feature that attracted the touch screen. I noticed that the housing was made of a flimsy plastic and was concerned about placing the heavy shredding mechanism on top. So, I decided to place the mechanism face down. Applied the heavy shredder to the housing. This way, I know that for sure, the two sections are locked into place, and eliminates pinched fingers. To date, I enjoy using this shredder. I had put it to the test by shredding at least fifty sheets of paper, in groups of twelve of course. Performance went exceptionally well. I also was pleased that three plastic liners were supplied. Odd that in the instruction booklet, there was not an option to reorder the bags. Interesting. There was a bit of confusion pertaining to the amount of time one can shred paper. I have seen twenty minutes (On Other Sites), and then I saw ten minutes. I see some sites are playing the word game.

My wife jammed up my last two shredders so badly that I just pitched them rather than attempt disassembly. If the shreds were smaller I would be happier but for the price I compromised on the shred size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powershred® 73Ci 100% Jam Proof Cross-Cut Shredder My Powershred® 73Ci shredder works great so far. I love the pull out basket for easy emptying. It's very quiet. I love the wheels so I can roll it from one spot to another, but it gave a jam warning with just 5 pages when the rating is supposedly 12. Keep that in mind if you have a high volume of shredding to do.

It's not as fast as others I've owned, but it is by far the best in construction and ease of operation. It's safe and very quiet! I love the technology! It doesn't have a separate small bin to catch the CD and credit card waste, but that's very minor, and is better in my opinion. I empty the paper into a recycling bin before I shred CDs and credit cards. Highly recommend for light to medium use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fellows 73ci Shredder After purchasing numerous shredders for home use I can say without any reservations that this is the best shredder that I have ever purchased and used. I am glad I made the decision to purchase this shredder. Right out of the box it has worked perfectly and hasn't missed a lick. My wife even made a comment as to how quiet it is. The only thing I see that could be improved on is the design of the bucket to collect the shredded paper in but it is really not an issue. Even with with a plastic bag in place it still gets some paper in the bottom of the bucket that was not caught in the bag.

In this product, I got both of those options and then some... I also got a product that looks extremely professional and the quality is outstanding. I used to hate documents. Now, I found a task I will forward to complete. Thank you for creating the best shredder ever. I will tell everyone, they need this product. I will never buy another brand.
