Product Overview
Main Features
  • Wireless access point
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n (draft)
The D-Link Wireless N Dualband USB Mini Adapter is an 802.11n (draft 2.0) client device designed for users looking to get a reliable wireless connection that can also handle High-Definition (HD) video streaming throughout the house. This is best achieved by using the DWA-160 together with a draft 802.11n quadband router such as the D-Link DIR-855.

The DAP-2553 supports Wireless N signals in either the 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency range. This allows you to check e-mail and browse the Internet using the 2.4GHz band while reserving the 5GHz band for streaming HD movies and other media. The DAP-2553 is also backward compatible, which means it can be used in existing 802.11g or 802.11a networks to enable significantly improved reception.

Product Reviews
D-Link DAP-2553 Wireless N Dual Band Gigabit Access Point w/ PoE - wireless 3.8 5 6 6
Maybe the cheapest way to get stable wifi deployed across a campus. It certainly isn't enterprise class, but with PoE, VLANs, multi-SSIDs, and 5 GHz, it has the features most SMB deployments need. August 22, 2012
Have 16 of these installed running on poe, 2.4 ghz. Reliable and good signal range. Great product for autonomous APs on a budget. June 29, 2012
It is good, have recently tested it on our boss home. I installed it as access point and it is working fine with their ISP June 2, 2012
Pretty happy with these AP's so far. Nice range, power, and some decent management and security features for the cost. Also the POE option is great since we have POE in place for our VOIP phones. Very stable and good throughput. May 9, 2012
a bit old ish, but a good sturdy device, very secure , well used in an office or at home will be excellent April 18, 2012
Cheap, Fast, POE, AP array, ARP Spoof Prevention MULTI-SSID April 12, 2012
