Whether you're looking to create differentiated 3D assets for games, compelling broadcast graphics for television, or stunning visual effects for the latest box office attraction, Autodesk 3ds Max software provides a comprehensive, integrated 3D modeling, animation, rendering, and compositing solution that enables you to better handle the conflicting demands of shrinking deadlines and increasing consumer expectations for quality.

Engineered to provide dramatic improvements in performance and visual quality, the nitrous viewport system takes advantage of GPUs and multi-core workstations to deliver a smoother, more responsive workflow, while the render-quality display environment helps drive better creative decisions in the context of your final output. 3ds Max also features the MassFX unified system of simulation solvers, and delivers its mRigids rigid-body dynamics, offering access to the power of the multi-threaded NVIDIA PhysX engine directly in the 3ds Max viewport.

Autodesk 3ds Max 2014 - New License 4.5 5 6 6
I use 3ds max on a daily basis, mostly for architectural visualizations of everything from backyards to hydro power plants. It is a powerful piece of software especially when combined with numerous plugins, out of which my favorite is V-ray which enables a photorealistic rendering. It is important to mention that latest version of 3ds max is 2014, however it is widely known that the fastest and most usable version is 2009, which is also used by myself too. So, for 2009, five stars. Newer versions - star and a half less. December 26, 2013
Very powerful software but loses a star because I never could figure out how to do anything in it. Used it in high school and was completely and utterly lost and confused about how to do ANYTHING in it. But it's pretty powerful and cool what you can do with it. September 10, 2013
Have used 3DS for a long time now and found it to be so versatile and flexible that I like working with it very much. I'm not a 3d expert but when some graphic development needs to be made in 3D modelling this is the way to go! April 17, 2013
If you are willing to take the time to learn it, this is one incredible piece of software! I have tried it out for a while, and can't see how anything else compares. August 21, 2012
I did a lot of 3d modeling in a prior life, 3ds Max always seemed to be really good at that. The only problem that I had with it was the rendering liked to crash. It can be difficult to work with at first until you learn it but with software as robust as this, it is almost expected that it has a learning curve. From an IT side, there is a Network License Manager and the ability to create a render farm with PCs that are not all that powerful. This is a great software suite as long as you don't need to remove it, which can be a hassle. August 14, 2012
Autodesk 3ds is a great place to work with 3D animation and design, Ive worked with 2009 and 2011, and the interface never strays from the original formula which has treated me well. I would always recommend autodesk 3ds. October 3, 2011
