ASUS RT-N66U - wireless router - 802.11 a/b/g/n - desktop 4.6 5 5 5
LOVE this thing. Fast, and best penetration we've had for a house with lots of grounded steel in the frame and mesh in the walls.Previous consumer models failed us miserably (some just couldn't cover two rooms!).With this one, repeaters are no longer required for us. October 21, 2012
The simplicity of this device is great! It just works. The interface is VERY easy to use though does not come with a lot of options (though you can install 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt or tomato). The range and speed has been stellar with 3 phones, 2 laptops, a tablet, and a media player all connected wirelessly. I only use it as an AP so I can't comment on the routing function. A big pro with me was the gigabit switch that it has! I don't understand why others have a 300mbps+ AP with a 100mbps switch (makes no sense). October 10, 2012
Great performance and range.I use it for it's Access Point mode.Only 4 stars because the web interface feels out of date. September 17, 2012
More than a good value for Money With good aftermarket firmware support, or just plug and play out of the box, this is the BEST out there at the moment. One caveat - if you want IP forwarding, you need to download tomatoman's build by shibby. Some people have been having problems with the SONOS wireless system. Check your DNS Mask. For some reason SONOS is not forwarding it to the ASUS.If you are considering the Linksys EA4500 or the Cisco 4200 v.2 don't bother. Unless ALL you want to do is USB this routers outperforms them both, especially in wireless range. April 17, 2012
