Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor I've owned this monitor for over a year now and it has been a great alternative to having two monitors side by side, freesync is great and now I just need Samsung to make this in 1440 p

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice monitor when it works Purchased in April and started having issues in May. Before that the monitor was great for gaming and really anything else you could throw at it. However, I started having an issue where sometimes the monitor works, sometimes it works with a degraded (extremely out of focus or distorted right side, and sometimes it doesn't work at all (half the monitor is black and half white). Nothing resolves the issue aside from stepping away and trying again later. Support has been incredibly frustrating to try and deal with. Don't bother calling in. Both reps had difficulty understanding my issue and we went back and forth for roughly an hour before I gave up. Someone emailed me twice and then I stopped receiving responses about a week ago. Still trying to get the issue resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sub-$1K monitor on the market! This is a FANTASTIC monitor! The kind you dreamt about when you first got into PC gaming decades ago and explored different aspect ratios and wondered if they would ever... Well now they have! The performance on this monitor is staggering. The 144hz refresh rate makes this display a BEAST! HDR colors pop out at you and fill your peripheral vision. The display's 1800R curvature is the most aggressive of any 32:9 monitor on the market which is CRITICAL for immersion. BEWARE...once you've experienced gaming with this display in your set-up you'll NEVER go back to widescreen or even ultra widescreen EVER again. The immersion that this display gives you for ANY type of game is beyond description. If you're a sim racer, the bezels and awkward angles of a triple monitor set-up are ancient history. This curved super ultrawide panel is even MORE immersive than current VR headsets. Not only do you get infinitely superior color, refresh rates and resolution with this display over VR, but your FOV is also MUCH wider. You'll need to turn your head both directions in VR to see everything this monitor has RIGHT IN FRONT ON YOU! If you want the best possible display you can purchase for under a thousand bucks and take your gaming immersion to the next level, then THIS MONITOR IS IT!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for 4 months. Garbage now. Bought in jan20 and was extremely happy. In may the display port quit working. Swapped desktops and gpus still nothing. Tried replacing cord thats when i craked the eggshell lcd. NOW samsung will now fix display port issue because of cracked screen. Wow 4 months of use for $1000. Totally lost faith in samsung because of the terrible quality of this monitor. And worse their terrible customer service. I 4 samsung phones, samsung tvs, samsung memory, samsung ssds. But now that i see how your treated when you need them i will rethink my next electroncs purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, came with nothing. I purchased this monitor just a little over a week ago on the Samsung Shop App and it arrived pretty quickly. I put the box in the back room so I could get something to put this massive monitor on. Just took it out of the box today to set it up and realized after putting it together with the instructions printed on the box: there's no cables. No power cable, no HDMI, no DisplayPort, there's no quick setup guide, there's no CD. The only thing I received was the monitor and the stand. Is that normal? Is nothing else included? I'd like to get it fully set up so I can see if it even works but I can't do that without any cables.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Monitor for my Work & sometimes Gaming After using one of these I became addicted to the quality and response rate. So I got a 2nd one and now have one on top of the other. It works great for all of the multi-tasking work I do or gaming while working kind of stuff. It's like having 6 monitors in total but without the edges for each monitor. I did find the Samsung software for managing applications didn't work very well, or at all really. But there's third party applications that work just fine so that ended up not being an issue other than a brief frustration trying to get Samsung's to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Failed within a year! I haven’t even owned It for a year and it failed on me. The screen faded out and started displaying vertical colorful lines. Monitor was awesome when it worked. A little glitchy which gave me a suspicion about the longevity of it but I thought it would hold out because I trusted SAMSUNG after owning a few of their TVs. I dropped $1000 on the monitor because I had faith in SAMSUNG but not anymore. I will be looking at buying other brands from now on until they get their act together. I’m extremely disappointed in this 49” Ultrawide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this setup! Still wonder if it has sound I'm not a Gamer but heavy duty multi-tasker for ..... wait for it.....WORK!, in the Financial Industry. Someone has to Pay for the Xbox's etc. around here :-) This monitor is not cheap but worth every penny to me. I love it and highly recommend it. The only thing I still can't figure out is if it has sound. My PC sure thinks it has sound but no sound ever comes out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flickering Screen I bought a Macbook Pro at Apple Store on the same day as I bought this Monitor, first impression was amazing, but after a few hours, I noticed that my monitor started flickering, and have since them. To make the flickering stop, I have to keep CHANGING the monitor configs, from 60hz to 120hz and vice versa. I have been able to handle it but it's getting anoying and I'm going to actionate the support for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really wanted this to be awesome, sadly not... I finally decided to treat myself to a top of the line monitor, so I thought. I read all the reviews and some people had issues, most did not so I thought it was a rare occurrence. Guess I am one of the unlucky few... I opened my monitor and it was love at first sight! This monitor is beautiful!! I plugged it up and it worked great! The color was awesome, no dead pixels, just awesome!! Then, after about an hour I noticed a few dead pixels. I turned it off and planned to investigate the next day. When I turned it on it would not load images from my pc. I hooked up one of my old monitors and confirmed that there was not an issue with my computer. I tried a couple game systems and a DVD player and still nothing. I am so sad to have to send it back. The store I bought it from did not have any more of this model, and another guy was there returning his for a different issue (Flicker). I am so sad right now... I thought about trying the 49" CRG9 Dual QHD model, but am not wanting to be disappointed again and really wanted to test out the 144hz. I have other Samsung products (phones, tablets, tvs) and have not had any issues with those. Im almost afraid to open my new QLED tv at this point...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, not great, and could use a firmware update Purchased after my 34" ultrawide had a board failure. I was looking for 4 inputs, using 2 for work PC, one for personal PC, and one for the gaming system. I liked the idea of the Picture By Picture mode that allows either 11:9 | 21:9 or 16:9 | 16:9, or 21:9 | 11:9 on any of the inputs, which is better than some competitor offerings. I find the full-screen to be too big for the gaming system for most of my games, but that was OK, in 21:9 for my purposes. All of the inputs worked fine using full-screen mode, but in PBP mode, the miniDP port when connected to my Mackbook Pro would show the display, but flashed Check Signal Cable, constantly. If I used a miniDP to DP cable and the monitor DP input, it worked fine. If I used miniDP port in full screen mode, it worked fine, but miniDP port in PBP mode always flashed the error. After a very lengthy chat session with Support, their recommendation was to send the monitor in for service. Instead, I went back to where I purchased the monitor, plugged into THEIR display, and encountered the EXACT same issue in PBP mode. It's fairly obvious that this is a firmware issue, as I got the same issue with MacOS and Windows, but Support wouldn't admit it could be a firmware issue. I also noticed that in MacOS, it reports the monitor is only 30.5", instead of 49, although Win10 appeared to be fine. No Mac driver is available for download. I DO think that extending the resolution to 3840x1440 would be a good upgrade, and I definitely would like the miniDP to work correctly in PBP mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for everything I've had this monitor only a week. It replaced some older screens. Everything about this is amazing. But I have 1 problem. I just ordered a second one, and I don't know how i'm going to mount it above this one. I'm trying to figure out a way to fabricate something but so far I got nothing. Either way, i'm excited and waiting for my 2nd screen to arrive, hopefully I come up with a mounting solution before hand. A+ product. Used mostly for research and gaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely Overpriced due to the high resolution, and aspect ratio, even the smallest smudge is notice-able, but impossible to clean! you'd think after about 20 years of making hd tvs and computer screens that we'd have a better method for cleaning them then wiping them down with a microfiber cloth that never actually does much at all. no smart tech. be prepared to flash back 50 years ago to fiddling with buttons to change any settings on the screen itself, and forget about having multiple inputs.

Perhaps I'm just overlooking a crucial setting on the monitor that adjusts resolution to specific game capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful display The picture quality of this monitor is excellent. The colors are beautiful. The speakers are built into the monitor. Rated 5 out of 5 by from This monitor is in beta. for me it seems like this monitor is in beta, and what could be a good product was pushed on the market with alot of flaws. This is the list of issues i have gotten and still havent been able to resolve with samsung support. 1. First issue im encountering is the monitor switching output (hdmi etc.) whenever switching from a fullscreen window to another window. takes about 2 secounds and then it turns on again. 2. Ever since the start it has been making 'crack & pop' noises this happens when the monitor is made of cheap materials - the monitor expands and as a consequence of this i can even see pixels in the top of the monitor where the border was suppose to cover. 3. Latest issue and the most annyoing is the monitor displaying white pixels in eaither the top portion of the monitor middle or lower part its just a sudden flash not triggered by any specific event, the 'white pixels' span the entire width of the screen. I feel like this monitor has so much potential and i do not know wich monitor i would chose other than this because it is an amazing monitor and for me this width is perfect for my line of work, im not mad at samsung im just sad, sad that this monitor has the potential of being a complete game breaker but falls short with major bugs and issues. I would 100% recommend this monitor if they fixed all of the issues thats currently with the monitor. See attached video and pictur for issues. Oh and last thing why freesync? like why?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update I have written a review of this monitor before. Now quite a while later I've purchased another one to see if there's been any improvements since last time I owned a HG90. I had issues with the backlighting in gaming mode + issues with the backlighting zones beforehand. The difference between the previous monitor I had and the new one i recieved today is night and day, so much so that I doubt it's just firmware upgrades that are the difference. I recommend disabling the backlight zones in SDR as they still cause some funnies in certain games. Other than that the monitor performs excellent. The insane blur that I experienced on the other monitor is nonexistent here, using the gaming mode is almost not really necessary. In gaming mode this monitor is also more than bright enough, almost a bit 2 brigth for how I generally keep my lights in my room. Haven't gotten to test the HDR much, but I assume it's pretty much the same as it has been. Pretty basic, not really well supported and windows HDR stuff = pretty basic and buggy. There are plenty reviews on youtube that test the HDR properly. I honestly don't find it necessary. Picture quality is excellent, colors are vibrant and very nicely balanced, very little blur, overall very good quality overall. I'm not bothered by the 1080p resolution as I prefer framerate over pixel density. All in all I'm very happy with this monitor, again, so much so that I suspect the panel had more issues than just a few dead pixels on the previous one I owned. I've tested LG's 35" ultrawide, Predator Z35/X34/X34P and AOC Agon 35". There's no comparison between the HG90 and the forementioned. If you really want a higher resolution I would go for the X34/X34P(they both have their pros and cons, most people seem to prefer the older X34 model). All in all an excellent product and I kind of regret not testing another one of these when I returned the first one. I would still like to see more backlight zones and proper HDR10 support but I'm sure that's coming down the line, and with the pricing of the current HDR10 monitors I don't mind the HG90 at it's current price at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I expected this thing to be stellar.... I opened the box and said OMG out loud. This monitor is truly spectacular to look at. It's just beautiful. Too bad it dosen't work. Initially I hooked this up to my PC via Display port and I fell in love. So much screen real estate. So easy to multi task. Games that support this resolution looked wonderful! But I would walk away and the monitor would go to sleep. After that...good luck waking it up. Many times of unplugging and re-plugging the monitor into power and finally it would start working again. Walk away again and the same thing happens. Beyond frustrating that Samsung won't address this issue that MANY people have. Give it a Google! Shortly after that it would randomly start turning off while I was using it! Press the power button...nothing. Unplug, re-plug...over and over until it would finally kick back on, work for 5-10 minutes and just shut off again. I tried everything. New power cable, display port cable, HDMI cable, I went as far as swapping video cards...it all comes back to the monitor. At this price point, I expected this thing to be flawless. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. Wait for Samsung to get it together and address the issues. Maybe the next version will be better....until then...I'll stay very far away from Samsung monitors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too impressed Already has a dead pixel in less than a week! Also not a lot of websites adjust for the monitor length so thats been interesting. The navigation buttons at the bottom are also hard to see; they should have designed a remote. Also if you are looking to try to mount this it can be a chore to find a good arm monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally Have owned for two months and found my all-time favorite. I like large, high-def monitors and tried 49"-51" 4K TVs, but they had too much real-estate for desktop gaming. I was always missing action due to the vertical distance from corner to corner. This is the perfect solution. Very happy and recommend highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pictures will never do it justice Once you try it out, it's hard to use a regular monitor. It does not replace a true 4k setup on a 65"+ TV but just as good. So if you use your giant 4k tv for computer and gaming use - this is a different idea. Put them together, and just swap inputs for the best experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Monitor The only recommendation would be that Samsung starts to support the market and Gsync instead of FreeSync. Rated 5 out of 5 by from all excellent but i would definetly wait for a 4k one Excellent monitor for gaming,, but if you do other things like photo editing you would go for a 4k one ( that's what i do, using additional 34" monitor).. HDR work perfectly "but" you have to adjust the settings/color from the Graphic card menu ( in my case NVIDIA) otherwise it looks like washed out. In the most cases don't expect a great look after enabling the HDR function in the windows display menu. I will calibrate the monitor together with the HDR and probably comment afterward, I need my two monitors to match the same colors. Overall great monster monitor :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clarification I returned my screen because of dead pixels. The monitor brightness is a bit of a jam here. in HDR it's extremely dark and hard 2 see. And furthermore, the gaming mode/overdrive automatically enables the backlight strobing, which in itself is great and makes for a blur free experience, but the brightness of the display with this enabled is quite frankly abysmal. With it off it's nice and bright, but you basically have to play in a completely dark room to see anything with the gaming mode on. Sadly running with it off makes(like all current VA panels) for an extremely blurry experience. The lack of backlight zones also causes problems in games that have a bit of contrast between dark and bright areas, it will literally cause big sections of the screen to dim and make the bottom 3/4 of the screen normal brightness and the top strip 1/4 really really dark, or vice versa. Things like a white fog in a dark area will also cause some really strange brightness issues, in a foggy section of CoD WWII Zombies, it got so bright that i literally could barely see anything on the rest of the map until i turned away for a few seconds. I suspect alot of the HDR issues also stem from Windows lack of proper support at this point in time as the monitor itself. I didn't mind the 1080p resolution as I prefer framerate over anything else. In many ways it's an excellent display, but I don't feel it's cutting the mustard for gaming quite yet, at least not at an enthusiast level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great panel but some games will have trouble You would be expected to play a lot of games in window mode due to resolution scaling. The monitor is great, but lacks some 21:9 aspect ratios like 3440x1440. As a gaming monitor, a lot of games are created for 16:9 or 21:9 ratio. Only some will support 32:9. Not having 3440x1440 (21:9) makes it difficult to play a lot of older titles. You can force 3440x1440 in Windows, but games will end up ultra stretched taking up the full screen. Would like to see a firmware update to include at least 3440x1440. and maybe 4280x1440 (one can hope). Free Sync2 / G-Sync compatibility issues - some games also will cause the monitor to flicker in window mode especially past the 60hz mark. to fix this problem just run the game in cap fps or change the maxium refresh rate to 59hz-60hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Screen OK all Bare with me, i am trying the best i can to write in English here. I got a new computer with 2 GeForce 1080 TI last month with this screen. And the screen itself makes me happier than the computer itself. its so very clear, fluent and the colors are just simply amazing. i read some of the remarks that people wrote here and for the better part of them they had issues that were not linked directly to the monitor, and were from my point of view ''not informed and/or not objective with their critics'' This screen is the best one on the market so far with its 1ms response time, 144 refresh rate, and image Quality, you will not be disappointed in this screen

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for gaming Excellent for gaming! Not bad for general work either - resolution is OK (just OK, not amazing) - but that is the trade off. Try running a game at a crazy resolution and frame rates will suffer unless you run a supercomputer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 144Hz - Choppy Video Your selling a top of the line monitor without the option of gSync. Why not release a gSync compatible version of this monitor? I am veryt dissapointed that my monitor has any "chop" or stutter to it when using a gtx 1080ti video card. I understand there may be a licensing fee which would increase the cost of the monitor, but I have already invested so much into the two of them, it would be negligible.

I have money to blow on stuff like this so I do. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase of this monitor. Colors are awesome... response time and refresh rate are amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome. And really really big Got my new super wide screen monitor and I am loving it. So much immersion into games. Quality is fantastic. Assassins Creed never looked better. The only small complaint is accessing the ports is tricky. Such a big screen is difficult to move. Having the headset port and a USB port or two on the front of the monitor would be great. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PC Master Race Reference Monitor I'm a PC gamer and I decided to upgrade from my Sony XBR55X900B 55" TV as my gaming monitor to a Samsung CRG9 49" ultra wide monitor and I am really happy with it. My TV was too bright and burned my eyes even if I filtered out the blue light using Night light. I finally settled on buying the 34" LG 1440P but it was out of stock. Then by dumb luck I was checking Fry's Electronics website and they had surprised released the CRG9 on a Saturday and I paid $1500. I hooked it up and was pleasantly surprised with the stock settings. Usually it requires time spent calibrating. This was not the case and I started gaming right away with my RTX 2080 ti. Gaming at 49" 32:9 is a truly immersive experience. It's really hard to go back to a regular desktop monitor after this. I played Grip with a normal monitor and it was ok but on this monitor it really makes that game better. I primarily play Ghost Recon Wildlands, Watchdogs 2, Grip, and GTAV. Resolutions down to 1080P variants all look excellent. No degradation in quality that I can see. I work from home sometimes and it spoils me, the productivity is excellent with this. I can have UltraTax, PDF documents, and Outlook open at the same time with a seamless transition. At the office I have 3 monitors with 2 vertical and 1 horizontal mounted. Dragging windows across can get cumbersome. I don't watch movies on this but I did test a few and Sunshine looked gorgeous on it. The cinematography on it is stunning! This is my reference film for testing a screen/TV/Digital Projector. It has difficult to render black shading and images of the sun that floor you. If you like good sci-fi check this one out. I have Freesync Ultimate(2, low input lag, and 120hz at 5120x1440P enabled and everything is smooth as butter. I sometimes have to decrease resolutions in some higher end games because the res is difficult to render even with the card I have. I usually decrease to 3840x1080p and still very impressed. One thing I want to mention is the black levels. My Sony had horrible black levels in certain games like Farcry 4/Mad Max and it drove me nuts. There were missions I couldn’t do because it was rendered a pitch black solid wall. After buying the CRG9 I have replayed some of those games to compare and it has greatly improved. There is detail in the shades of black and gray now. Text is very easy to read. It’s light on the eyes and agreeable with me. I have put many productivity hours into this monitor so I would know a thing or two. Now onto the not so great: it has some minor ghosting in fast moving images of sharp transitions of black to white. But honestly it does look like motion blur of the game so it could be that. However scrolling down lots of text there is slight ghosting. It doesn’t affect me because it’s work and it only happens while scrolling fast. Another thing that happened was it was half red one day and I read online to plug it directly into the wall and not a UPS. I did that and it fixed it right up. No more issues. Oh and the display port cable is 10ft long, I like that. Most companies ship you a 6ft and when you have a Lian Li DK-05X computer case/desk 10ft is required. Despite minor annoyances I LOVE THIS MONITOR!!! Gaming, productivity and internet browsing(and p8rn ;) ) will never be the same again.
