It's a Worthy Replacement for My DesignJet 111.
I was NOT happy with HP's decision to discontinue the HP 11 and HP 82 cartridges, thereby rendering my HP DesignJet 111 as useless. That printer served me very well for 12 years, requiring only a replacement of print heads 4 yers ago. It was relatively fast for an entry level wide format printer. That being said, its replacement, the DesignJet T230, is now online. I have it hooked up to the USB connection. Communication is fast. Print quality, under "speed" is excellent and crisp. Print speed is acceptable and twice as fast as the 111 winter printing a D size sheet. Page setup with the Mac is also simple- I found it did a great job setting up an "Arch D" sheet. Only gripe is that HP did not have a recycling program for the DesignJet 111. Also I had to use a local source for that. Overall I like the T230 and would recommend it.

paper size options
this is my 3rd HP plotter, for architectural work.
this one is not as user friendly as my last one HP 430) as I still have not been able to change paper sizes at will.
so far I have to plot with the A-1 size.

Poor durability/longevity and customer suppport
I bought this in Feb 2021. I have only used 150ml of ink as its used very infrequently. Last week, the black ink ran out. We replaced it with a genuine HP 712 High Fill. The cartridge leaked out of the box. HP said the cartridge is defective and the leaking damaged your print head. They then said the print head is out of warranty so you will be on your own to replace it. They said its not how much the print head is used, but it only has one year of coverage. I would avoid this printer and brand in the future due to this experience.
